"Come on, Shizuo! You've been so pissed off lets just go have some fun!" A (h/c) girl told her best friend. Or at least in her mind he was her best friend. In his mind she was so much more but he's too stubborn to admit it to anyone. The blonde dyed man turned to the girl and gave her a glare, one that would scare off anyone else.

"Go away, _." He told her but in his mind it was 'Please don't go'. Of course he would never actually say that. On the outside he wouldn't care if she just left the shit town known as Ikebukuro. But on the inside he hoped that she would never leave. He hoped that she would always stay with him and talk to him since she's the only one that does. Well besides the insane doctor and the myth known as the headless rider but he doesn't particularly like them as much as the girl.

"But Shizuo. You always seem so lonely and you don't let anyone close. Please just listen to me this time. I think that if you come with me then you wont be so grouchy." The girl told him as he glared at her again. What she doesn't know is that when he glares they are actually blushes. He wouldn't tell her that, though. Hell, he doesn't even know it himself.

"Leave me alone, _. I have more important things to do." He said again and turned his back to her. Of course he actually hoped that she would never leave him and that he only wants to be with her. The girl sighed then thought of a way to maybe make him smile. She smiled to herself and hugged him from behind.

"W-what are you doing?! Stop! Let me go!" He exclaimed, cursing himself for stuttering. Of course he wanted her to continue to hug him. He wanted her to never let go. But he couldn't realize that's what he wanted and so he pushed her away and began walking. If he stayed for a split second then he would've noticed the look of pain and sadness cross her face but he just had to get away from her. She decided to follow him. She wasn't going to let him just leave her.

After walking for a bit the blonde felt someone following him so he glanced back and saw the girl. On the outside he was pissed off that she couldn't leave him alone. He wanted to yell at her and get her to leave. But on the inside he was happy, overjoyed that she stayed. He wanted to run to her and hold her to him tightly. Instead he turned around, causing her to bump into his chest and making his heart flutter at the contact. He then glared once more and turned around.

"_, I told you to stop following me. You realize why right? I don't like you. I don't want you around me. Cant you see that I want you to go away?" He asked with an angry tone. He didn't mean any of that. He wanted her to stay by him. He wanted her to never go. He loved her and hoped that she could see past his façade. But he also didn't want her to. He didn't want her to see him vulnerable. He didn't want her to see him weak. Especially for if that damned flea found out.

"B-but Shizuo, I love you." His heart pounded loudly. The girl that he so desperately wanted to hold and love loved him back. The girl that could break past his tough shell, loved him. But being who he is, he couldn't accept that. On the inside he did but on the outside he wanted her gone.

"Well hate to disappoint you kid, but I don't." A lie. It was a lie for he loved her more than anything. But the girl thought it was the truth. And so she turned away from him. All he could hear was sobs. And he felt a pang in his chest that hurt him more than any cut, more than any time he broke a bone, more than anything. He looked back at the girl, his hardened face masking his concerned and hurt one. She was crying. She looked broken. Because of him. He tried to reach out to touch her, to comfort her, to apologize. But she shook her head and ran.

A monster. That's what everyone called him. That's why no one would come near him. They all viewed him as a monster. And today with what he had just done, he proved it right.
