Is it forever?
Auggie felt for the watch on his nightstand. He opened the lid, felt for the time and sighed. After a month of total darkness he was still trying to adapt. He had just woken up by a dream that had made him believe he could see. All the images, people and places had been so colourful, so vivid, so bright and clear, that he had believed he could see again.
But then, upon opening his eyes, he was surrounded by the same darkness he had been living in for about a month. He rubbed his eyes, but that of course did not help. The darkness would not fade.
And then, he remembered the conversation he had had with the doctor in the morning. He had waved his hands right before his eyes and had asked
"Is THIS forever?"
And the doctor had replied
"I am sorry, but it is"
And now, he had to deal with it!
