This is my first fan fiction I've submitted but not the first I've written.

Kano sat on the couch, acting like nothing had happened.

Kido walked up to him with her usual death glare. "Kano, where have you been?", she interrogated the cat eyed blond. "You missed a mission yesterday."

Kano sighed. "I've been meeting up with a friend and talking about stuff.", he lied to Kido.

Kano had hid in his room for several hours, crying. He had forgotten why he cried and tried to deceive himself in order to get over it.
Kido raised an eyebrow. "Are you sure?"

She was certain something was up with Kano. There is always something up with him, she though to herself.

Later that day, Kido put on her apron and started preparing dinner. Marry walked up to her. "Kido-chan? Do you know when Kano is coming home? I called him and he said he was coming back an hour ago."

Kido sighed and took off her apron. She turned off the running stove and asked Marry to not leave the apartment until she returned. "I'll go find Kano.", Kido's last words before heading out to the dangerous world.

Where could that idiot be?

Kido wandered around for a while. She held out her cell phone and decided it was time to call. She dialed Kano's number (1-800-Deceive) and waited for him to answer it. She heard a click.

"Kido?", Kano answered.

"Baka! Where are you?!", Kido sounded angry.

"Kido, I'm still at the apartment. Seto just arrived too, he's asking where YOU are."

Kido instantly hung up the phone. She was furious with Kano now. She stomped back to the apartment. She was about to cross the final street to the apartment when-

CRASH

Kido had been hit by a pick-up truck. Her right leg bent in an abnormal way, blood splattered everywhere, and people gathered around.

"I heard something.", Seto said as he turned from the stove, cooking Kido's unfinished dish. "I'll check it out."

Seto walked out of the door, only to see Kido's bleeding body. He stumbled back, tripping over a stray object. Kano heard a thud from outside his room. He walked outside and saw Seto with a petrified face.

"Seto? What is it? You look like you saw a- a-" Kano stopped talking after that. He took a shaky step forward. Then another… He saw Kido, horribly injured. He ran to her side and picked her up. "KIDO!"

Tears fell from his eyes. Kano started sobbing uncontrollably. Then he remembered why he was crying in the first place…

Kano was afraid of seeing Kido get harmed.
