"Where are we going?" Aeris asked as she let Cloud guide her.

He looked over his shoulder, smirking knowingly at her but didn't answer her question. She narrowed her eyes playfully as he took her hand and led her into the forest. She looked back at the Hotel for a second and then back at him.

"Shouldn't we tell the others?" she asked but Cloud shook his head.

"No, I don't want them here. We hardly have enough time together anyway."

Aeris could not help the smile that spread across her face. Cloud could be so romantic sometimes though you would never have guessed it by the way he acted so cold to almost everyone he met.

"It's just in here," he whispered, squeezing her hand slightly.

Aeris tried to crane her neck to see through the thick branches but she could not see a thing. She did not understand why Cloud had come here in the middle of the night but she reckoned it had something to do with the fact that Cloud did not want to deal with the pressure that would come when the others found out about them. She wasn't going to complain either. She liked having Cloud to herself, without anyone else knowing about it. The secrecy was a thrill.

She was thrown from her thoughts as Cloud pulled back a large branch to reveal a candlelit picnic all set out in the clearing, the moonlight bathing out onto the blanket. She turned her gaze to Cloud, who was studying her reaction carefully.

"Do you like it?" he asked softly, tilting his head to the side. She grinned before she threw her arms around him.

"I love it!" she cried. "It's so romantic!"

Cloud smiled, his eyes crinkling to show it was genuine before he leaned in to catch her lips in a soft, chaste kiss. Aeris eyes fluttered closed, her hands pulling him closer. She just wanted to enjoy this moment with Cloud. With her Cloud.
