Hey, just a repost, Ailienor pointed out that my word editor had eaten my formatting. So here it is they way it was actually written. Thanks Ailienor.

Lol, also thank you to SecondStar2theRight Gaius's name wrong (it's fixed now). I mean really what kinda fan am I? *hangs head in shame*

Just a little semicrack!fic. I had a writing prompt and this story wouldn't get out of my head until I put it on paper.

It just so happened that Arthur's discover of Merlin's magic was not quite so interesting as Gaius's discovery that Arthur knew.

Arthur's discovery was anticlimactic really. Arthur had opened the door to his quarters to find his armor polishing itself while Merlin stoked the fire. He'd just stood there for a moment staring, jaw gaping, before saying, "huh, that explain quite a bit actually."

The boys weren't trying to be particularly devious, not really, but Merlin's magic being revealed had had the unexpected consequence of making both boys feel particularly mischievous...

"Merlin," Gaius said, lifting an eyebrow at the Young Warlock's antics. Merlin was currently juggling medicine bottles... with no hands.

"What? No one's here," Merlin said, orchestrating the juggling with a bouncing index finger.

Gaius's eyebrow arched further. "No, however someone could walk in at any moment." And really, what happened next should have alerted Gaius to the boys' scheme, after all, the timing was simply too perfect. For, no sooner than the words had left Gaius's mouth, Arthur swung open the door

"Late again, Merlin you had better have a very good reas-," the prince said, stopping abruptly as he laid eyes on Merlin. The next moment, the medicine bottles were lying shattered on the floor and Arthur's sword was pressed to the hollow of Merlin's throat. "Sorcerer," he hissed.

"Arthur, I can explain."

"What? That you've betrayed me, Camelot, all of us?"

"It's not like that."

"Shut up, no more lies!"

"Your majesty," Gaius said, finally regaining his wits, "There's-"

"And you," Arthur said, spinning to face the older man, "you knew?"

"It's not him who's broken the law, Arthur," Merlin said, "It's me you want. So what happens now, are you going to kill me?"

Arthur turned to face him again and drew in a deep breath. "In a moment I will call for the guards. You will be arrested and taken to the dungeons. Then, I will tell my father what has happened here. You will be given a trial," he said evenly, "you will be declared guilty and a pryer will be built in the square and you will burn for your crimes."

Gaius looked at Merlin. The young warlock was meeting his prince's gaze steadily. How was he ever going to get the boy out of this one?

"But," Arthur said after a moment. Gaius turned back to him, a faint glimmer of hope flickering to life in his belly. "That does sound like a great deal of work," the prince said.

Gaius stared at him open mouthed.

Merlin nodded his agreement. "You just want to keep going like we have been?"

"You mean you as my incompetent manservant and pretend you don't have magic?"

"Yeah, that's the general idea."

Arthur shrugged, sheathing his sword. "Sounds good to me."

Merlin grinned toothily and the truth dawned on Gaius. "You boys," he said after a moment, "should remember who exactly it is that brews the medicines you take when you are sick."

Merlin's grin faded a bit at the implications of that statement and Arthur's eyes widened.
