Neville and Ginny – Chapter 1

Hi everyone! Just wanted to let you know that this is my first every attempt at Fanfiction. I have never written anything else before, in my life! So pleaseeeee, leave your comments and thoughts! Thank you so much!

It all started when he was in his seventh year and Ginny in her sixth. Ron, Hermione and Harry were all away, finding the hidden horcruxes. He knew that deep down, that it was wrong that he was looking at Ginny in that way. He knew very well, that Ginny and Harry were 'dating. However, contrary to popular beliefs amongst other witches and wizards, it was Ginny who made the first move.

*Flashback*

As soon as everyone had gone to bed, Neville took out the Marauder's map that Harry had given to him for temporary use. He had been given it in cases of emergencies when he isn't there. He stepped out of his four-poster bed, and looked outside, holding the map tight in his hand. Looking out of the window, he thought to himself, about what the famous trio were doing at the moment. He suddenly felt a surge of jealousy creep through him. He was part of Dumbledore's army too; so why couldn't he have dropped out of his seventh year, ad helped Harry to find the remaining horcruxes. He could do it! He thought about his life at Hogwarts, now and then. How back in the second and third years – before Voldemort rose to power again. How 'great' his life used to be. And then, he thought about how is life is now. Everywhere he looked, he could only see the solemn faces of Hogwarts students. He could see how scared, anxious and terrified they were. He also noticed how he had no drive left in him whatsoever. But, there was one thing – one person should he say, that kept him positive. He knew that it was wrong – thinking about the boy – who – lived or the Chosen One's girlfriend in that way, but he couldn't help it! It was him who had first taken her out on a date, well before Potter had made a move. He had taken her to the Yule Ball in his fourth year. Yes, he had told everyone that he had only taken Ginny because he needed someone to take. All the fourth year girls had all been asked. Ginny had only accepted because third years were not allowed and this would be the perfect chance for her to get a way to go. Maybe, that was Ginny's reason, but secretly, the first girl that Neville had thought about, as soon McGonagall has announced the Yule Ball, was Ginny.
