THE NIGHT BEFORE (the) CHRISTMAS SPECIAL
Twas the night before Christmas
But we didn't know
For we don't celebrate it
In the Star System Ro
But that isn't to say
There's no festivals here;
There are many throughout
Our one-thousand-day year.
My own favourite is
The Gorga Ahrmared
Where a million Gor lamps
Are lit for the dead
And then set in blue lanterns
And sent to the sky
Like a thousand new stars
Looking down from on high.
Or the Day of the Children
When each child is a king
How we danced! To this day,
I can still hear them sing.
Oh our children, poor children
You deserved so much more.
If we only had seen what
That night had in store.
Twas the night before Christmas
When out of the black
Sailed a hundred war ships;
All cleared to attack.
They gave us no warning,
No chance for our lives.
Just butchered our children and
savaged our wives.
They had technology
more advanced than our own
And we never learned what
Distant star they called home.
But it did not matter;
For our time had come.
Our cities burnt
like the hearts of the sun.
And I hid in the sewers
Huddled; hand in small hand
With my beautiful children,
Too young to understand.
And as I held them on that
cold Christmas Eve
I saw something that
you would never believe.
A man; but not like any
I'd ever seen,
Who walked and spoke like he were
Lost in a dream.
But with eyes-
Oh those eyes that had seen.
And I knew he could save us
for what it was worth.
But twas the night before Christmas;
he was off saving Earth.
So to all of you Earthlings
Who spend Christmas inside
For fear of those vessels
That come from the sky
Just remember that man
and his strange box of blue
and that not every planet
is lucky as you.
A/N: So... my first Doctor Who fic isn't really a 'Fic' per se, but Gee Whiz, I hope you like it anyhow. In honour of all those Christmas Specials in which the earth manages somehow to once again get in Jeopardy and the Doctor has to save all us humans AGAIN. It makes you wonder though, what about the other planets? Sure, he saves an alien or a billion from time to time, but you put a planet of them up against a planet of humans and say 'You must make a choice, Doctor. One of them WILL die! MUAHAHAHAHA!', which one do you think he's gonna choose? So I hope you thanked your lucky stars you are the Doctor's favourite, human race, cause if you weren't, you would've been obliterated a LONG time ago.
Food for thought *grins*
Stay Shiny!
Your pal, CANDY xx
