The sign read "Crystal Empire delayed until 5 AM." Twilight sighed as she stared lazily at the stormy weather outside. The large clock in the airport read 2 AM, and several ponies were asleep. Twilight had gone to the airport to visit her sister in law Cadence, but the flight was delayed due to bad weather conditions. Fluttershy had gone with her, as she loved to visit the beauty of the Crystal Empire. Fluttershy was currently getting food for Twilight and herself. Twilight saw the yellow pegasus slowly fly back down the airport hall, a cup in one hoof and a bag in the other. The alicorn smiled at her friend, seeing how much care Fluttershy was taking to not wake the other ponies there. Spike, who was fast asleep in the chair next to Twilight, stretched and yawned, after which her returned to be curled up in a ball. Fluttershy fluttered into her seat next to Twilight, handed her the cup, and whispered "I, um, got you a latte. I know how you like them." Twilight smiled as she took the cup in her magical grasp and took a sip. She turned to Fluttershy and asked in a hushed voice "How did you know that I like Cinnamon Dolce? It's my favorite!" Fluttershy took a daisy sandwich out of the bag and replied "Well, we've know each other for so long, and we're best friends. Best friends know these things." Twilight smiled at Fluttershy. She was so grateful to have such great friends.
The two ate and drank in silence, to not wake up Spike. After they finished, Twilight returned the favor by throwing away the trash. When she returned, Fluttershy was yawning and rubbing her tired eyes. Twilight sat down next to her, and Fluttershy nuzzled into her purple fur and fell asleep. Twilight's purple cheeks turned pink, as she felt an unusual feeling she hadn't felt for a friend before. Love. Twilight checked the time. Almost 3 AM. The unicorn sighed and thought "Not much time, but enough to take a good nap." She closed her lavender eyes and feel into a deep sleep.
