She looked up at the towering building, it's pokeball symbol glowing blue against the sunset sky. This was it.

She'd travelled Sinnoh, scaled Mount Coronet, saved the world from Cyrus. She'd made her way through Victory Road, climbed the final waterfall.

Now it was the end.

A deep sense of sadness filled her. She looked down at her Pokeballs. At the loyal friends she'd made. Soon, her days of adventure would be over. No more sleeping under starry skies, no more Gyms to challenge. A cool breeze tugged at her hair and froze the tear on her face as she looked at the building, then turned around and looked at what she'd left behind.

Far below her, the rugged caves of Victory Road, and further below, the dark sea. The Vista Lighthouse shone in the distance, illuminating the small Sunyshore beach.

She turned back toward the League. It was truly the end now. Nothing left after this. She felt another twinge of sadness. She didn't want it to end. Not now. So much had happened, so many memories forged and friends left behind. This had been her dream when she left home a year and a half ago. Now, she found herself wishing it away.

She closed her eyes. This place held a dreamlike quality. Jutting up from the sea into the clouds, it seemed to hold it's own soundless melody that soothed her soul and cleared her mind. The building itself was amazing, soft grey, almost white stone crafted into a castle that wouldn't look out of place in her old story books. It only added to this places ethereal quality. The melody played over and over in her head, it's empty chords and silent notes.

This wasn't the end.

It was only the beginning.

Awaiting her were the four most powerful trainers in Sinnoh. It was her one last chance to shine, one last run with her beloved party. If it all had to end, she'd go out with a bang.

Smiling, she stood up and walked toward the building. Toward the beginning of the end.

Authors Note/Afterthoughts

This was simply a drabble I came up with while listening to the Pokemon Leagues Nighttime Music in Pearl. I do recommend you listen to it while you read. A reflection on how I felt when I beat the elite four on my sisters diamond. The adventure was over. I don't competitve battle much, so really, it was the end for me. The trainer is , techincally, Dawn, as it's the female D/P/Pt Avatar. However, please do not think of her as Dawn, just another trainer.

Enjoy,
