He wasn't even nervous, when he walked to the Hokage of Konoha office. Baki walked after him and was completely quiet, when Gaara knocked on Tsunade-samas door. "Come in." she said from the other side of the door.

It's was about one year ago, that Naruto and Jiraya had left Konoha to train Naruto.
Sunagakure needed a new Kazekage, and Gaara fitted perfectly for this job. Many of the citizens have protested, told that they couldn't honestly mean that they would let a monster be Kazekage!
But Gaara tried to view them the 'new him', and some of the people have accepted, that he was going to rule Sunagakure.
But before they could let Gaara become Kazekage, he had to meet their allies, and the others Kages.
It wasn't just a one-day time he had to be in the different villages, he had to meet the Kage several times, and lay strategies for upcoming stuff and discuss some other things. When he wasn't in the Kages office, he could walk around in the village.
This trip could take up to one and a half month, if not longer.

It was Gaaras first evening in Konoha. Temari, Kankuro and Baki were with Gaara on his trip to Konoha. The Hokage had given them a big apartment, there was used for special guests.
Gaara decided to go outside a bit, to see the village after the sun was down. On his way home, he heard some familiar voices nearby. He stopped up to see who it was, and found Shikamaru, Ino and Chouji who shared some barbeque. Shikamaru saw him first, and stopped the conversation with his teammates.
"Oi, Gaara! What are you doing here in Konoha?" He asked and laid his chopsticks on his half empty plate.
Gaara looked at him, remembering him from the chuunin exam, where he beaded his sister.
"I'm on a business tour to meet the Hokage." He said with a monotonous voice.
Shikamaru just stood clueless for a moment, before Gaara added;
"I'm going to be the new Kazekage for Sunagakure, so I have to meet Tsunade-sama." Shikamaru was a bit shocked.
"The new Kazekage? Wow. Congratulations Gaara!"
Gaara nodded, wanted to say 'thanks' or something, but didn't know how he should do it.
"I have to go." Gaara said quickly instead, and left Shikamaru without a bye.
He walked back to the apartment, and sat in the bed there was given to him the rest of the night. He couldn't sleep because of Shukaku. It was pretty annoying to hear on Temari and Kankuros low snoring, when he also was tired. Instead of getting insane of tiredness, he walked out to the kitchen to get some coffee.
He was wondering, if there was other peoples left than Shikamaru, he had met before. He hoped so.
