Yusuke eyed the white jelly bean suspiciously before popping it into his mouth; he lay on the ground with an arm curled behind his head. A purple box of jelly beans was placed beside him. Unbeknownst to the young man, a pair of emerald eyes was watching him; amusement clear in their depths. Kurama found it amusing how Yusuke eyed each jelly bean before eating it, as if one might blow up.

"Hey Kurama," Yusuke greeted as said kitsune came into view.

"Hello Yusuke, what are you doing outside on such a hot day?" He questioned. The summer had been quite unforgiving as of late. He'd figured Yusuke would be inside escaping the heat.

"Forgot my key," he shrugged before eating another jelly bean.

"Do you mind if I keep you company?"

"Not at all." Kurama sat down beside Yusuke, looking up at the clouds. They had to be interesting. Yusuke had been staring at them for quite a while. A few moments of silence passed between the two before Yusuke offered him a few jelly beans, which he accepted. One of them was an odd color; it was an orange color with a few red specks. Shrugging it off, he popped it into his mouth. However, he was met with a very unpleasant surprise. His eyes widened as a foul taste filled his mouth; quite unexpected from a simple jelly bean.

Yusuke obviously found his reaction funny, for a grin had spread across his face. His shoulders shook with suppressed laughter. Instead of continuing to chew the nasty bean, he swallowed it and looked at Yusuke who was still on the brink of laughter.

"Got a bad one?" he managed to ask.

"What kind of jelly beans are those?" Kurama asked, ignoring Yusuke's question.

"Bertie botts," the young man replied while holding up the box. Now Kurama recognized it. His step-brother was always trying to get him to try them. Obviously the person, who made the fiction candy reality, had clearly lost their mind. "Did I forget to mention that?" Kurama's narrowed eyes answered that question.
