Vanitas glared at Riku as he talked to Xion. Riku knew that he liked Xion but he also liked her. Every since they were kids Riku always seemed to get in the way when he tried to impress Xion
Flashback
"Happy birthday Xion"Vanitas said holding out a necklace he had spent all week making.
"Aw thanks Vani it's beautiful"Xion said. She was about to hug him but Riku interrupted.
"Xion look what I got you"Riku said handing her a kitten.
"Thank you so much Riku I love it"Xion said hugging him.
Then there was the time when they were 10 that Riku and Vanitas were fighting.
"Come on let's fight and the winner gets to share a paopu with Xion"Riku said.
"Your on"Vanitas said getting into a fighting stance. They fought but Vanitas quickly disarmed Riku and knocked him to the ground.
"Haha looks like I win"Vanitas said.
"Riku are you ok"Xion asked running over to him.
"Yeah we were just playing"Riku said.
Then again when they were 16. It was just like any other day until the darkness came.
Riku and Vanitas were trying to fight the weird creatures with their wooden swords but it wasn't hurting them.
"Riku take Xion and run"Vanitas yelled.
"No way Vanitas we're staying with you"Xion said.
"Just go i'll be fine"Vanitas said. He knew it was a lie but he wouldn't let her know that because he knew she would cry and he didn't want to make her cry. He looked back to see Riku dragging Xion away. Once they were gone Vanitas turned his attention to the weird creatures.
End of flashback
That was the last time he saw her before he met Xehanort. The kid he used to be was no more now he had darkness inside him. He had been watching Xion from afar to make sure she was always protected.
At first she cried a lot over him and he felt bad but part of him was also happy that she did care about him. As the years passed she didn't cry as much and she seemed to get even closer to Riku. This made him angry he did all the work and he was her hero yet he had nothing to show for it.
He wanted so badly to go to her and say he was alive and that he loved her but he couldn't let her see him like he was now. He had turned into a monster and no matter what he would never let her see him like that.
