Chapter 1:
Annabeth's POV:
It's been a few months after the war. After all the chaos. After all the wins. After all the losses. And just like I promised Percy a few months ago, we'd spend our last year of high school together, then go to college at new Rome, and spend the rest of our lives there, just like he dreamed, just like we hoped.
But life has its ups and downs, it's a rollercoaster ride.
Things don't always go as planned, things aren't always going to be in order, life is unpredictable and we just have to get used to that.
In 2 days, I go to my first day of senior year at Goode high, and let's just hope it's nothing like the stuff on TV cus I'm probably going to end up bashing some girls head…
BEEP BEEP BEEP
I groaned as I slammed my hand on my alarm clock, shutting it off. I checked the time.
5:00 AM. My flight to Manhattan, New York is at 7:00 AM. YAY! I couldn't wait to finally see Percy in so long! I know I iris message him every day but it's just not the same. Plus, I get to put my months of pre-studying into use at school.
I quickly got out of bed, took a quick shower and got ready. I was wearing blue skinny jeans a grey shirt with my also grey converse high tops, a choker and a gold necklace. I was too exhausted to do my hair so I just left it open hanging loose around my shoulders.
By the time I grabbed my suitcase and headed downstairs, it was around 5:30 AM.
Gods I'm gonna be late!
I quickly shoved down my cereal and chugged my orange juice, when I heard my dad laugh and say, "Geez Annabeth calm down, I know you're excited and all but the airport is nearby we have loads of time."
"I know dad but checking in, and everything with labelling the suitcase and buying an airport present for Percy, then actually getting on the plane and-"
"Okay! Okay! Calm down. Let's get going then?" He interrupted.
"Alright let's go." I said.
Bobby and Mathew weren't awake yet, I wished I could say goodbye but, oh well.
He loaded my suitcase at the back of the car, and we made our way to the airport.
Percy's POV:
I woke up from a nice long sleep, when I remembered I was going to meet Annabeth at the airport today! YES! Finally, I missed her so much, it's been a while. Her flight is around 5 hours so I'd be picking her up at 12:30 PM. I checked the time and it was…12:45 PM OH MY GODS IM LATE ALREADY!
I sprinted out of bed and just threw on any clothes I could find, I tried brushing my teeth, if brushing your teeth for 10 seconds counts, then I once again sprinted to the kitchen as fast as I could.
"MOM! MOM! WE'RE LATE WHERE ARE YOU?!" I yelled.
I heard a voice behind me coming from the kitchen, "I know sweetie."
"mom?" I turned around and saw my mom calmly drinking her coffee. HOW WAS SHE SO CALM IN THIS SITUATION?
My facial expressions must have said it all because the simply laughed and said "We had a deal didn't we? Didn't you promise me last night you would take care of everything?"
I just stood there…
"well…" I tried to counter, but I had nothing. I did, after all, say that. We made a stupid bet, why did I agree to this. Annabeth is going to kill me.
"fine." I said accepting my fate. I gobbled down some blue pancakes, kissed my mischievously smirking mother's cheek goodbye, and ran outside to my blue car and got inside.
Annabeth's POV:
Once again I find myself in a familiar situation. Percy is late. Very late. He's such a seaweed brain! I stood at the waiting area of the airport holding my suitcase, tapping my foot impatiently. It was 1:00 PM now. Gods.
I started to think he wasn't going to show up for a while so I just sat down.
I looked around and saw 3 girls wearing, might I say, VERY exposing clothes. The one in the middle had short black hair and green eyes. The one on her right had very long blonde straight hair. And the one on her left also very long brown hair. They were wearing matching outfits. An EXTREMELY short black skirt, with sleeveless crop tops. It just looked so wrong. I had to look away. That is…until they came up to me.
The girl in the middle stood right in front of me. The looked me up and down and I couldn't tell if she was impressed or disgusted.
"May I help you?" I said.
"Umm yeah," She said. Her voice was very high pitched and she seemed like one of those cocky mean girls. "I like you." She continued.
"Umm sorry? I don't understand." I said.
"I mean," She started. "You look pretty. I like your style."
I was even more confused now. What does she want? She just randomly comes up to me and tells me I'm pretty?
"Oh, umm thanks I guess." I said almost blushing. ALMOST. Annabeth Chase doesn't blush.
"What school do you go to?" She said chewing her gum loudly and twirling her hair.
"Oh I'm going to Goode High. I haven't been there yet, but my boyfriend goes there so…" I replied.
"OMG NO WAY! We go to Goode too! Isn't that cool!" She said very loudly. We got a couple stares for that one.
"uhh yeah. Cool I guess." I said kind of getting annoyed now. Why doesn't she leave already?
"Okay well, did you need anything?" I said hoping for her to get to the point.
"Oh yeah. I almost forgot! Silly me!" She sounded so fake, you have no idea how hard it was to not roll my eyes at that moment. She then continued, "So, me and my friends were like talking about how pretty you are," I'm pretty sure that's a lie "and I just wanted to know if like maybe you were going to our school cus Goode is pretty popular these days. We were kind of hoping you could be…I don't know one of us?"
"oh-ehm- well I-" I started, until I saw Percy! He was running towards me with Sally a few feet behind him. I completely ignored her astonished face when she saw me leap into Percy arms. I gave him the tightest hug ever almost breaking in to tears from how long it's been.
"I missed you." He whispers.
"I missed you more"
I loosened our hug a bit so I can look into his gorgeous sea green eyes. God that will never get old. He leaned in to kiss me when- "EHM! Anna! I'm still here!" ugh, she's still here. I mustered up my fakest smile and turned around. "right, silly me. "I said. Before I could continue she said "Percy?! Is that you?! OMG It is you! Ahaha. What a coincidence we were just talking to Annabelle ab-"
"Annabeth" He said
"Yeah whatever." The two girls next to her said. Wow I just realised they haven't talked the whole time. I noticed the brunette kept staring at Percy. I guess she was into him. Well not on my watch.
"So we were just talking to her, right annie?
"Annabeth" I said this time.
She just ignored me.
"So Annabeth what do you say about being one of the TEE's?"
TEE's? is that what they call themselves? Is that a letter of each of their names or something? Wait if a was with them, would it change to the TEA's? lol, okay whatever.
I need to come up with a smart way of saying no without them ruining my high school life because I'm assuming they're popular, but all that came out was "uhhh…"
"Oh wise girl we're gonna be late!" Percy said smacking his forehead.
I looked at him questioningly, he just winked. Thank god the TEE's didn't see. Percy is saving my butt. I guess my seaweed brain is turning into a…less seaweed brain.
I smiled and said "Oh yeah I almost forgot! Oops well gotta go! I'll see you at school bye!" And we ran off without another word.
"ANNABETH! HOW ARE YOU?!" my mom practically yelled at Annabeth in the car.
"Oh I'm fine thank you, what about you? How's Paul?"
"Oh I'm fine, Pauls doing great!"
"So are you still writing your book or?"
"Yes actually I'm almost done, I'll be sure to give you the first copy to make sure it's ok."
"Oh that's so sweet! I'm sure it'll be-"
"TALK ABOUT SNOOZE FEST!" I yelled. "This conversation could not get less boring. "
"well alright then you talk about something interesting then." Annabeth said mockingly.
"fine, what were you and Tiana talking about?" I asked Annabeth. She looked surprise at the well attempt of a better subject.
"Oh well, actually-wait her name is Tiana?"
"Yeah, the others are Elizabeth, and Emma. The TEE's. They're pretty popular but a bunch of brats." I said.
"Oh," She said. "well I can't wait to see them at school." Annabeth said sarcastically. "Senior year is going to be nothing like what I imagined."
