Okay, I just had to get this out. Tell me what you think, please and thank you.
Note- Once again, my grades were not good enough to get NCIS for a present… Maybe next semester?
Saleem yelled at her and the sun beat down on her. But she was not there. She was with them. Her family. Tali, Mama, Gibbs, Ducky, Palmer, Abby, McGee, Tony, and maybe even Ari. She was with them, on a hillside she had always visited. On this hill, the wildflowers bloomed. When they were younger, she and Tali wove flower crowns out of them. She took a breath out of the dry sandy air, and tasted blood in her mouth as Saleem hit her for not listening, but she did not feel the pain. Because she was not there. She was among the blossoms with her family.
She woke up, sweaty and panting, from a nightmare that was not a nightmare, but a memory. A nightmare where blossoms burned because of a bomb that blew up. The meadow, that peaceful meadow, the meadow where Tali had later died when she was with a boy she thought she could trust, the blossoms had burned and fallen. Ziva drew in a breath, reminding herself of the lilac scented air of the hotel room that she was in. Tony sat up beside her and asked her if everything was all right. She looked at him, straight in the eye, and told him it was an old nightmare.
Ziva walked out into her garden, breathing in the spring air. She smiled at the bluebells that had started to spring up, and looked up at the decorative apple tree. The blossoms were especially beautiful this year. Tony walked out from behind her and put his arms around her, his hands going around her rounded belly. As the sun set and as the apple blossoms fell as the wind picked up ever so slightly, the blue bell scent grew even stronger. They stood like that for a long time, not saying anything, just looking and watching as the wind tossed the bluebells up and as the blossoms formed crowns on their heads.
