A/Ns: This is the first time I have ever written Jin and Touya in my LIFE and Touya's line came when I was editing pages for the Yuhaku + Kareshi doujinshi scanlation with his story. Don't ask me why, but it happened. That line just called out to me.
This can be considered a missing scene fic or just a bit after the Demon Tournament.
sweet as freedom
"Freedom tastes better in the sunlight, doesn't it?"
Jin turned his head to look at him. "What brought that on, my friend?"
They were sitting at the edge of the temple floors, feet dangling over the precipice. Just another fine day under the blue skies of the Human World. The sun shined into their eyes and a light breeze fluttered through their hair, just the way Jin liked it. Shishi and Suzuki were leaning back, taking in the silence as well.
Who knew an encounter with Yusuke Urameshi would land them here? In peace and having everything they could ever want?
"The dream we had for so long... It's better than I imagined."
And there, on Touya's face, was the smile that Jin thought was once a rarity. But not any longer.
"It is, isn't it?"
Jin closed his eyes and listened to the rustling of the trees.
What a beautiful sound.
A/N: For anyone reading, I used the Japanese name for Suzuka if any of you only have watched the dub, in case you were confused.
