Snowfall :Daystar x Shiara

A seasonal oneshot that has absolutely nothing to do with my other stories. Check out my profile for details.

Disclaimer: This, friends, is what would have happened if I owned anything about the characters, settings, etc. about the Enchanted Forest Chronicles. I'm poor, and I lack imaginative will to create my own novel. I own nothing.

Shiara shivered as she wrapped her arms tightly around herself in hopes of more natural warmth. Her magic was being finicky lately, especially with the recent snowfall the forest seemed to be receiving. Shiara swore her magic had a mind of its own, and it had a cruel sense of humor.

Daystar glanced over to her and smiled. "You're adorable when you're freezing," he said in good humor. Shiara looked at him and rolled her eyes.

"I'm just not used to the snow." She tilted her head toward the sky to view how the snow fell lightly into the courtyard. Shiara dropped her gaze back to Daystar when she heard his light laughter.

Daystar smiled and unraveled the scarf from around his neck, "Yes well, be that as it may," He took an end of the scarf in each hand and tossed the loop in the air. Shiara looked surprised, not expecting it to fall so neatly around her shoulders. "It looks amazing on you," he finished sincerely, tugging on the scarf to pull her close to him.

"Liar," she replied, practically grinning at her lover's antics.

"Granted, it doesn't linger for long, but the sight of it is enough to leave me speechless," Daystar let go of the scarf and wrapped his arms around her waist.

"You? Speechless?" Shiara quipped teasingly as her arms took their comfortable position around his neck. "That's only possible in three situations that I can think of offhand. One is when you're sleeping." She leaned closer into him, and Daystar tried to suppress a grin.

"And the others?"

"Well, there are different scenarios for the last two,"

"I don't see how."

Shaira flashed a bright mischievous smile, and pulled Daystar toward her. Leaning in ever so slowly, her lips hovered dangerously close to his and lingered that way. The minuscule distance between them instantly fired a heat between their bodies, and Daystar felt his heart pounding just in anticipation alone. His lack of movement however, was due to just how Shaira had smiled at him before she pulled him near, and at how she managed to send burning shivers up his spine without even touching him. Just when he thought he couldn't take waiting anymore, she pulled away completely, leaving him with the feint whisper; a ghost of a kiss.

Daystar looked at her in complete shock. He watched in disbelief as a sly grin formed upon her lips as she stepped back, and proceeded to wrap his scarf around her neck as she turned and walked away. Daystar let out the breath he didn't know he had been holding. Shiara looked back over her shoulder at the frozen prince.

"That was situation number three my love," she called with a smile.

Daystar finally snapped out of his trance. "Wait!" Shiara stopped and turned around at his call. "What's the second one?"

Shiara grinned and brought her hand up to her lips and kissed her fingertips. Daystar watched with wide eyes as she blew the kiss in his direction. "Come over here and guess."
