After a battle with the Yeerks,
I shed some silent tears,
In the darkness of the night,
When nobody hears.
In the shadows of a moonless night,
Most of my cries go unheard and unheeded.
A lot of the ones that are heard in the darkness,
Are the ones that should remain unanswered.
After a long day of fighting, I gaze at what some Yeerks once called home,
And I often feel regret and sorrow that I have to be the one destroying it.
This is the thing I think about every time I sit by the window looking outside.
Yes this is the thing, I start think about every time I go into my house and sit.
Even though I know deep down in my heart,
That I have done the right thing,
I still become saddened every time I think,
About last time I went to the Yeerks pool killing.
Some day, I hope I can look out into the darkness of the night,
And not witness the destruction of planets nearby,
And not remember painful memories and experiences,
But see the happy memories in the midnight sky.
