Waiting in the Cold

(Excerpts from the song - Kettobase! - Utada Hikaru)
[I want you baby... On this night that was full of mistakes, I'm afraid an umbrella is only appropriate. It will hide my tear-streaked face]
"Aoshi Shinomori," she said, repeating his name for the hundreth time today. She often caught herself doing it but she was helpless to a name like that. It was so strong, so beautiful....she smiled bitterly. 'Like him.' Despite her fondness for the man they never approached each other. They never spoke a word.
[Lately, that guy has been kickin' me around, and I've had it with him. I'll use this chance to show him how I've grown]
It was winter and she stared into they sky. It was then that small drops of water splashed on her wrist. She held out her hand to reveal a snowflake. Intricate, complex designs wove into each other. Some big, some small, some simple. But before she could examine it further it melted. Just like that.
[If I blame it on someone else, that just makes things worse, right? I'll try crying for myself]
'You're a lot like this ,Aoshi-sama,' she mused. 'You can be so complex and mysterious sometimes. But just when I thought I've figured you out , you change again. You shut me out behind your office doors and paperwork. Do you think that it will make it better? Ease the pain? Oh, let me help you...'
[ If you weren't so important to me I wouldn't care about you.My cheerful personality backfires]
She still stood by her post outside the Aoiya's temple; even in the freezing cold. She told herself to at least try to act happy, "Aoshi- sama" would be out soon and he shouldn't see her like this. 'No...he can't see me like this. What will he think then? Probably what he's always thought of me...that I'm a child with a stupid schoolgirl crush...'
[ Guilt fills my heart to my throat. Innocence was my "fly in the ointment." ]
'How long could a man meditate about four people? Hanya, Shikijou, Beshimi, Hyottoko...it wasn't your fault. Oh, Aoshi-sama...' She turned to the temple just in time to see him step out. He saw her there waiting in the old and with one glance he grasped the situation. Misao watched him carefully looking for a smile, a frown, anything. Nothing. Aoshi walked down the steps and didn't even acknowledge her. She watched watched as he turned into the Aoiya. She watched as he ignored her. She watched his pain.
But he didn't watch the single tear that escaped her face.
[Another day has passed me by How can I reach you? Another day, Another day, Another day........]
