Got kinda bored and decided to write a bit of a critical story about the movie's main protagonist. This is mostly done for parody.

Disclaimer: I do not own Merida, Brave, or anything Disney/Pixar related.

It was a bright, sunny day in Disneyworld as bagpipes played and young girls in plaid danced as everyone greeted their new Disney Princess, Merida. Queen Elinor, Merida's mother, presented her daughter with the a crown before Merida went up and made her big speech.

"Thank you! I'm glad to serve as Disney's progressive feminist princess every little girl can look up to!"

"What did you do?!"

Everyone turned their heads to look at a 20 something year old woman.

"I'm asking you what did you do that was different from all the other Disney Princesses?"

Merida was a bit stumped.

"Well—I—use a weapon."

"So? Mulan uses a weapon and even fought in the army."

"Okay, I'm progressive in feminism at the time my movie takes place."

"That can be said for every princess from the Disney Renaissance."

"Well I chose not to get married."

"Yet. You stated in the movie you didn't want to get married 'yet'. You're still leaving it open for the possibility of Disney giving you a boyfriend/husband later in the future."

"Well, hey, I'm at least trying to give little girls somebody to look up to."

"Oh yeah. A spoilt, selfish brat who berates and humiliates her mother throughout the picture and gets everything she wants in the end without making any sacrifices. THAT would make for a great role model for little girls. With all the controversy from Brenda Chapman and those petitioners at getting pissed off at you getting a sparkly dress and a lipo-suction possibly being a bad influence on other little girls, I'm surprised none of them had any repercussions in the creation of your character's personality and how that would be bad for little girls growing up. You're probably even worse than Ariel in the spoilt brat department."

"Hey, don't you badmouth me," said Ariel, "I ushered in the Disney Renaissance!"

"I'm just saying," said the 20 something year old woman, "that in terms of being a Disney Princess, you're really not that different from the others, and despite your movie being called Brave, you didn't really do anything that's considered very brave at all."

That was when the security guard came in and took the heckler away and everyone just continued to cheer for their new princess, not questioning anything said before.
