Disclaimer: I don't own Magi, Ohtaka Shinobu does. Take nothing.
Note: I want to write something after the event of Balbadd's negotiation with Kouen and Koumei, though I forgot what chapter it is, teehee. I haven't read the manga since then, so I don't really know what was happened. But I hope I did it with justice.
She sees him standing under the window arch, looking upon the dark yet glimmering landscape of Balbadd's night sky above. Alibaba-san does that often lately, Morgiana thinks, as the Fanalist overlooks the Third Prince of Balbadd secretly behind the wooden rack where she stands right now. He's musing, again.
Little does she know, his negotiation with the Kou's Conquerors few hours ago might be the cause. No. It's definitely the cause. She doesn't really know what was happened between him and the Princes of Kou, but she hopes it won't give him a hard time. Alibaba always has a hard time, it affects him but he rarely shows it. Alibaba is always about happy face and warm smiles, he's just like a sun, if Morgiana has to tell. And that's why she treasures him that much. Because he is her sun.
Alibaba is her light, then she has to be his shadow.
"Alibaba-san."
The bright yellow-haired boy shifts his gaze to her, giving a soft pang to her heart. His golden eyes scans her feature softly, suddenly aware of how much he aware of her present right away. It hurts , though, but he allows himself to suffer pain as long as he can drink her sweet scent. She's gorgeous, drop dead gorgeous that it hurts. Her crimson eyes, her silky long red hair, even the fact that she can carry him like he is merely a potato sack, everything about her is fascinating.
It's about a damn time for him to realize that he likes her, loves her, perhaps. But the damn time is a damn time, like the damn world is a damn world.
Marry Kougyoku, Kouen Ren had said. And he can return Balbadd to the way the nation has to be. He has personal responsibility for making it true since he's listed as the third line who has the right for the crown.
Like the damn truth is the damn truth, it means he has to sacrifice the Fanalist in exchange. And it hurts like it heard.
"Morgiana," he gives her his smile, a trained one. Alibaba knows when he has to smile while it hasn't to. "Aren't you supposed to be sleeping now?"
The Fanalist nods. "But you're awake."
Alibaba chuckles. "You're right. Come here, then." He motions the empty space beside him.
Morgiana complies. And it's always hypnotizing for just standing by his side. She feels herself whole.
There is a comfortable silence hanging in the cool air between the teenagers, as Alibaba keeps stargazing, and Morgiana enjoys what silent night offers: peace and solace.
"The stars are faithful, don't you think?"
Morgiana frowns, she shifts her gaze to his. He is smiling to her.
"Wha-why do you say so?" She stammers, feeling the heat is uprising in her face.
Alibaba grins, pointing out the dark sky. "Because they're always there every night."
Morgiana clears her throat. "I think you're right." She exhales. "I would like to be like stars too."
Alibaba's eyes glimmers with excitement as he asks, "Why?"
Her face reddens. "Because I want to be faithful." She smiles brightly. "For you, as your vessel."
That is the very moment when his heart breaks.
But he always knows how to smile even though his whole world is in ruins, swallowing all the bitterness for him alone when he remarks, "You'll be a good star."
I'm sorry for the bad grammar. Hope you like it, though : )
