A dance to make it Better.

I screwed up. Big time. No surprise there because I always screw up. What is my problem? First Alex, then that other girl, what was her name again, and now Manny. This time I actually fell in love. Yeah that's right Jay Hogart fell in love with a girl, and it felt great. No wonder Sean was always so happy when ever he thought about Emma, heard her name, or saw her. I feel the same way about Manny.

That's why I am here. At the D.C.S. Senior Prom. Not your typical place to find Jay Hogart. No I'm here for her. To prove that I do love her and I WILL win her back. She looks beautiful. Her long black hair up in a bun. A light pink dress hugging her in all the right places. Her makeup is light and soft complimenting her complexion just right. Wait hold up what am I a girl. C'mon Hogart be a man and go get your girl.

I walked across the room as Sean & Emma left her side to go dance. She smiled as she watched them. They looked so in love, I hope that's what me and her look like one day.

"What do you want Jay." She said hastily

"I'm sorry", I lamely replied

She finally looked at me.

"For what Jay, breaking my heart or fooling me into loving you thinking you felt the same".

Ouch. Nice going Hogart you broke her heart. You haven't seen her like this ever. Even after all of those break ups with Manning. Gosh I hate that guy.

"Manny I never meant to hurt you".

"Of course not Jay. I loved you so much and you blew it and now you want to tell me you didn't mean to hurt me. Well listen here Jayson; I've heard that before, from pretty much every guy I've dated. I thought you were different. Maybe Emma was right at first. Maybe you and I weren't meant to be, but what am I saying, you probably don't care."

"Of course I care Manny or I wouldn't be here right now, now would I. I fell in love with you Manny. You're the first girl I actually let in. I never thought I'd end having someone like you in my life. You make me so much better, I just wanted to apologize and maybe have a fresh start".

"Yeah, I'd like that".

"So do you want to dance"?

"I thought you'd never ask"

We walked onto the dance floor just as a slow song came on. We were right next to Emma and Sean, who gave me a thumbs up while Emma mouthed "good job" to me. So I got my girl back. Believe me I'd be crazy if I ever let her go again. She may deserve much more than me and I may have a reputation to live up to but you know what she's worth it.
