This story was inspired by the fact that Furuba takes place at the turn of the century. While thinking about it, I realized that the closest turn of the century was 1999-2000. Then I started thinking about how everyone thought that computers were going to end and that we're all two millennia people, and how the Sohma family really belongs to the prior millennia. This is the end result
Warning: This is a tragedy story. Do not expect a happy ending.
Disclaimer;
Mr. X looks up at Pwale in horror.
"How could you write this!"
"Write what?"
"This! How could you kill Handa-chan!"
"…I can kill a lot of people."
"I know that."
"You should be happy that I don't own them."
"Oh, believe me. I thank the gods every day for that."
"Your contract on the other hand…I've got this right here. Would you mind signing on the dotted lines?"
"WHERE THE HELL DID YOU GET THAT!"
"I've told you…black mail and marriage certificates work wonders…"
"…how much does a lawyer cost?"
"They won't take me on any more."
It Took 2000 To Break A Curse
A one-shot by Pwalefriend
The man, the gentle, evil man drew back his fist and let loose his strength…and overstepped his bounds.
Tohru Honda fell to the floor…dead.
Silence rang throughout the world.
Hanajima got up from her dinner table.
Uo-chan put down her glass.
Honda-sama bowed his head.
The cousins froze.
They knew.
Shigure and Ayame Sohma were singing brazen songs of joy to the efficiency. Hatori Sohma was looking for a subtle was to dispatch them into sleep. Kyo Sohma was dancing with Kagura Sohma, for old times sake. Hiro Sohma was blushing at something Kisa Sohma had just said and Mimiji Sohma was laughing at them. Kureno Sohma was as silent as always. Ritsu Sohma was staring off into the sky, wishing that he could have spent the night with Mitsuru-sama, eating takoyaki…
Blood is black in the darkness. A pure black of life force. Black and blood, blood and black. Without them humanity would cease to exist under the night sky, living only in the daylight hours where fear is lost and emotions are lessened. Any Fear that ventures into the daylight hours is rugged and harsh. Something that sucks on your mind and your wallet, not your heart and your life force. Paranoia is what they call it. It will not suffer elegance nor truth.
For a curse to be broken, an innocent has to die. Do not let them fool you with talk of kisses and heroism. The ancient world made magic, and the ancient world keeps magic. For the world is falling and the old alliances and dying. The legacy of the Old Ones is not to provide amusement, nor does it.
It haunts your dreams. It stops your breath. It's in your blood and it never lets you go.
Two bonds broke that night.
The gentle, evil man smirked and left the special room. He returned to the party where the Sohma family laughed and played. He knew that in the morning the people would find nothing.
No one ever heard from Yuki Sohma again. Some said that he became a mercenary in the Caribbean. Some said that he joined the army and was killed in battle. Some even said that he became an animal's right's activist, especially concerned with unethical tests performed on rats in laboratories.
A female ex-convict carried Tohru Honda to a hospital but it was to late. She was buried next to her mother where her friends visited her once a year.
Why?
A second after Tohru Honda's heart stopped beating the announcer said something.
A kiss does not break a spell. If we continue to believe this…no kiss will ever be broken.
What did he say?
The time of magic is over. The time to wake up has begun.
He said-
…
"Welcome friends…to the year 2000…the new milenia."
