Gone Drabble
I am writing a Gone fanfiction, that is a series of interviews with Gone characters after the FAYZ. These characters will be Sam,Astrid,Edilio,Quinn,Lana,Diana,Dekka, and Albert. I would love it, if you guys would submit a few questions for my journalist to use. Please PM if you have any questions.
I listened to random songs, while doing these. My take on how the song relates to Gone
by Michael Grant. I recommend you listen to the songs while reading. Please review. If you had a different take on the song, please, please let me know.
1. Song: Love Club, Lorde
Diana pushed her half-finished lunch away; she couldn't eat. Coates Academy was a sea of noise; kids were yelling, arguing, and the teachers stood their like pillars of disapproval. She could feel his eyes on her; she ignored. It was an odd feeling for Diana; not the staring, oh no, she was used to boys looking at her, but the intensity of the stare. She could feel his eyes like burns on her back. She stiffened involuntarily. She whispered the name of the owner of the eyes; Caine
This was focused on Caine and Diana's relationship, and how they hate and love each other. It's very weird, I know.
2. Song: We Are the People, Empire of the Sun
The FAYZ was quiet; no one stirred among the dead. The black sea was infinite; Caine felt it. Closing his eyes, he could remember the fear, and desperation on the journey to the island. He could remember Jasmine, Tyrell and others. He could no longer remember them. He could feel Diana next to him; Caine could feel her angry calm. She was mad at him; he knew. But he had to go back to Perdido Beach, he had to. He and Diana were destined to rule; they needed each other. They were bound somehow, and they were going to rule Perdido Beach as its king and queen.
Setting is in Plague, and Diana and Caine are going back to PB to rule. The song explains it all.
3. Song: Bring Me Down, Flume feat. George Maple
The world wasn't quiet. He meant for it to be quiet. But it wasn't. The green snake reached for him with its hungry tentacles. He balanced on a window, tipped horizontally. He was resting on a landmine; one false move and it would explode. The snake wanted him, just like the snake wanted Eve to fall in his big sister's stories. But he could not let himself fall. He couldn't. It whispered at him:
"Nemesis, come. Come, come."
"No. I cannot play with you."
"Come."
Basically, the gaiaphage is tempting Little Pete, and wants him to succumb to him. Not sure if this takes place in Fear of Plague.
4. Song: Without You, Lana Del Rey
She had everything. She had somehow found an escape in the FAYZ; hot water, food, a place away from the horrors that had started when the FAYZ began. But then why did she feel so alone; why did she feel so empty? Was it guilt? Maybe. Panda still haunted her, but it wasn't that. It was Caine. Diana knew he was evil; but she was too. But she and he had a bond; one built out of hate and love.
Didn't finish in time; basically Diana thinking about Caine.
