Lakeside Adventure 1 Redone and Remastered

You Did What?

A/N: I have a new and clearer view of what I want to do with this story. Plus, not so cringey writing! So, here we go!

Hitsugya Toshiro let out a sigh of fatigue as he set his brush down and massaged his temples with both his hands. For the past week his lieutenant had been out, doing what, he had no clue. Perhaps she was off gallivanting with Ichimaru now that he was reinstated as the third division captain. His trial had gone on for months but eventually the Sou-taicho had said enough was nough and pardoned him apparently. Toshiro didn't know all the details, he wasn't one of the six captains asked to sit in on the trial.

"It's so hot... Where the hell is that lazy woman?" Toshiro asked himself, picking up his brush again. "Stupid heat wave... Stupid paperwork...Stupid lieutenant..." After another thirty minutes later he collapsed back into his chair.

"Oh taicho!~" Matsumoto sang as she slammed the sliding door open, causing her small captain to jump slightly.

"Matsumoto! Where have you been?! I've searhed everywhere this past week!" he shouted, leaning forward on his desk, hands massaging his temples again. "Until it became too hot." he mumbled underneath his breath.

"Hello Chibi-taicho!~" Ichimaru sing-songed as he appeared next to Hitsugaya's Lieutenant.

"I knew it..." Toshiro grumbled before letting out a sigh.

"You don't look to good taicho. Are you feeling okay?" Matsumoto asked from in front of his desk. The tenth division captain didn't know when she had moved there and he honestly didn't care anymore.

"I'm too hot to deal with this." Toshiro stated, standing up. "I'm going to go cool off. Matsumoto, you are not to leave this office, understand?" he stressed as he walked to the office door.

"Don't forget to pack!" Gin called from where he had situated hmself on one of the sofas. Toshiro froze in the doorway, hand on the door.

"Pack?" Toshiro asked, head turning to look at the man he still didn't trust. "What do you mean, pack? I don't have any missions that I'm preparing for." The tenth division office fell into silence. Both older souls stared at the youngest in the room.

"What?" Toshiro asked after a minute, fully turning around to face the two. "I have no where to be except for the office." Ichimaru turned to face Matsumoto.

"You didn't tell the chibi-taicho?" Ichimaru asked incredulously.

"I was going to but I-I got so excited planning, and-" the lieutenant started, moving her hands in wild gestures.

"Tell me what?!" Toshiro inquired, crossing his arms over his chest. The room returned to silence. Ichimaru let out a cough and gestured to Matsumoto.

"Well, Ran-chan... This is your little project..." Ichimaru initiated.

"Really, Gin? Push this onto me?!" Matsmoto asked, placing her hands on her hips.

"I know you two are childhood friends and all, but I believe it would be beneficial for you two to address eachother formally in the work place." Toshiro but in. It was silent for approximatly ten seconds before Ichimaru began chuckling. Matsumoto swatted him on the back of the head.

"Gin! Seriously!" Matsumoto yelled at the man.

"Just tell me why I would need to pack already." Hitsugaya groaned. Matsumoto let out a sigh while Ichimaru tried to stiffle his laughter.

"I may have signed you up to be one of the captains to supervise the trip that the Shinigami Women's Association is hosting in the world of the living to raise money?" Matsumoto said. Her captain's face went blank.

"What?" the boy genius asked, voice devoid of any emotion. Ichimaru started howling with laughter.

"Shut it, Gin!" Rangiku yelled, giving the man a good thump on the head.

"You. Did. What?!" Toshiro yelled, fists tight at his sides as he stepped further into the room, a small amount of thin ice beginning to frost over the surrounding area.

"You signed me up, to go the world of the living, in this heat wave, to keep an eye on a bunch of shinigami, without my permission of knolwedge?!" the young captain shrieked, voice cracking ever so slightly at the end. Ichimaru let out another round of laughter.

"Why did you, no, better yet, how did you do it?" Toshiro growled up at his lientenant.

"I may have used the stamp you use when you become too tired?" she replied, hand rubbing at the back of her head.

"Matsumoto..." the tenth division captain growled again, this time stumbling slightly. He braced himself with a hand on the back of the couch.

"Toshiro?" Rangiku inquired, worry filling her features.

"Shiro-chan?" Gin had asked at the same time, immediately halting his laughter, a frown plastered over his usual grin.

"I'm fine! I'm-" Toshiro cut off, falling unconcious to the floor.
