Forbidden Fruit Tastes So Sweet

A romance. Unallowed sparks. Unwanted problems.

A/N: I only read the first Artemis Fowl book, not the second, so don't bother if it isn't accurate. I wouldn't know. Oh yeah, I don't own Artemis or anyone else except for spare charecters. Either Holly/Artemis or Juliet/Artemis, you'll find out, though maybe not in this chapter. Both will be in it. Since you never get a definite age for Juliet in book 1, it just says she's a teen, I'm making her 15. On with the story.

~*~Hiding True Love~*~

She pulled him closer, her lips pressed hard to his. The pleasure was addictive. She couldn't get enough from the first time she kissed him.

Somewhere in the back of her mind, it registered that what they were doing was wrong. Fear came over her, that someone would find them.

She tried to release the feeling. She knew that someone would find out anyway. The past three months had been hard, constantly hiding. Hiding true love. It was something she wished she never had to do.

He pulled back gently. She sighed with pleasure and rested her head against his chest. He stroked her hair gently as she wrapped her arms around his neck.

Then she heard something outside. Her body tensed. He tried to relax her as the footsteps faded away.

"It's okay," he whispered, his lips close to her ear.

"I know," she replied, just as soft.

She sighed. She had asked to see him tonight to tell him she couldn't be with him. She would have to know. She was sick of living in fear.

He gently tilted her chin up. She wrapped her arms tighter, expectant, when the thought rushed back to her. "No!" she said, in a soft voice that rippled through the silence in the room. She pulled back.

"Juliet...." he said softly. She tried not to see the hurt in his face. Thoughts flew through her head, thoughts she knew weren't real but she forced herself to believe.

He doesn't love you, she lied to herself. Wasn't he the one who wanted to keep your relationship a secret? He's ashamed of you, Juliet. You deserve better.

She knew she was lying inside. She couldn't ask for someone better then Artemis Fowl. He loved her, he knew her every thought, every desire, everything about her. But she forced herself to believe it as she stepped, trembling, towards him. She couldn't, not now, but she couldn't stay here.

"I'm sorry," she whispered, pushing herself up to kiss his lips. "I can't be here right now."

With those words she left the room, tears trying to break through. Artemis stared after her, wondering what he'd done.

A/N: I wrote this cause I'm a Juliet/Artemis fan and I don't think there's enough of those, btw. REVIEW!
