Meaning
She had always given him the strength to do what must be done, whether it was for a necessary sacrifice, or just to face the horrors that they must. It was always just the thought of those shining, cornflower blue eyes, that silky blond hair, those cherry red lips and her satin-smooth skin that kept him going.
And that the those eyes had closed for the last time, that those lips had spoken their last, that the hair and skin was ashes - it meant nothing. He loved her still; he loved her forever and always, past death and time and space. Because none of those words meant a thing with out her; nothing meant anything at all without her smiles to define it, to define him. So he would wait, until he could join her.
He would just have to be strong until then. And for now, that just meant that he had to be strong enough to escape into the blue sky.
