The Baby Mouse
It was two weeks after Cluny the big mean rat got hit in the head with the bell. It was also two weeks scince the Abbot died. Now it was Matthias' turn to be the father of the abby. He also wanted to get married to a mouse so he could have children. Matthias' first choice was Constance. But he could not marry her because she was a badger. So Matthias decided to marry Cornflower.

So two weeks later the wedding took place in the middle of Mossflower Woods where they also found Marten's soard. The wedding went along smothly, and at the recption they had some cheese and other mouse foods.

Then at the end of September Matthias noticed that Cornflower was pregnant. They told everybody in the abby the good news.

Then two months later they had the baby. "It's a girl!" exclaimed Cornflower. "No, it's a boy," said Matthias. "Well scince we both disagree with each other lets ask Basil the Stag," declared Cornflower.

They asked him. "I am not sure," he explains, "it looks part girl and part boy. I guess your going to have to wait until he gets older to find out."

So they waited a couple years. Then they asked Basil the Stag again. He was still puzzled when he first looked at it. Then he gasped. " It's a boy," he said in his happist voice. "Thank you for telling us," replied Cornflower. "Let's name him Matthias Jr.," said Matthias. So from now on they went on living a nomal life with a happy Matthias Jr.
