Disclaimer: I do not own Avatar: The Last Airbender. However, I do often dream that I am the Avatar. Or at least some sort of water/air bender mix. How great would that be?

This little oneshot was inspired when I stepped outside one day and felt like it was Fall, which, is my absolute favorite season, good for laying outside all day and doing nothing but staring at the clouds, and especially for dirtbiking, it's the perfect weather; just cool enough to be comfortable in all that hot gear.

A lot of what I'm writing is what happened to me, except for the part about the stream, since there is no such thing near my house, even though I wish there was.

I might add an extra chapter and make it Zutara, and continue on if yall like what I write. But if you're not a Zutara fan, there is absolutely no Zutaraness in this chapter, and it can be read as a oneshot. Which is what it is, for now. Anyways, ENJOY!

Katara awoke to the sound of her favorite species of bird chirping outside. She snuggled up closer to Appa, not quite ready to wake up yet, but as she heard the wind blowing she peeked out over her covers and remembered what she'd been thinking about for weeks: Autumn was coming!

She jumped out from under her blanket, causing a grunt to escape the throat of the giant bison she was lying next to("Sorry, Appa!"), and ran towards the little spring not too far from the camp site. Katara gasped as the rivulet came into view; it was sparkling, practically glowing, from the sunlight pouring down on it through the canopy of trees. The spring was small and slow, trickling over small stones, a mini waterfall near the end of it. It was probably no wider than Appa, and was as clear as the air she breathed.

Ahhh, she sighed, Fall! Red, yellow, and orange leaves fell from the trees as the last word came into her mind.

How appropriate! and a gentle breeze blew, causing her hair to come loose from the braid she always wore.

Katara simply stood where she was for the longest time, enjoying the beautiful day. She just loved Fall so much! Summer wasn't quite over yet, but her favorite season was right around the corner. She closed her eyes and inhaled deeply, trying to keep this day in her mind for forever. Katara walked over to the clear stream, dipping her hands in the water, and bending it so that it moved like ribbons spiraling up her arms. She let it slide back down them, and made a water ball in her hands, splitting it in two and juggling them.

She concentrated harder, shaping it so that it formed the symbol of water. Katara gazed upon her creation with pride, and gently let the water return to the stream. One last time she closed her eyes and let air slowly enter her lungs, raising her arms and spinning in circles, happiness filling her as birds flew amongst the trees, singing their joyful songs. Katara gleefully danced about, caring about nothing else in the world but this beautiful place she had found, and the peace it brought her.

Katara sighed happily. Ahhh, Fall.
