Disclaimer – I don't own Ashes to Ashes
So this is something I thought I'd write seeming as I'm never in the Galex fandom anymore! But my love for ashes is still strong. IT's short, and probably rubbish, but enjoy!
Alex Drake had been off recovering for two weeks. She'd taken the time to rent a small cottage by the sea in order for her to relax. Now thought she was home, well, back in London in 1983. She felt like she was beginning to think f this place as home now. She sat down on a bar stool in luigi's. She looked around the bar, pushing a piece of her short brown hair behind her ear. Shaz and Chris sat in one corner of the room together flirting, Ray and some blonde in another. She looked around for Gene and smiled as she saw him walking in. Luigi passed her a glass of red wine and she smiled in thanks. "O'right Bolls."
"Hello Gene." She replied as he took the seat beside her.
"Glass a your 'ouse rubbish luigi."
"Yes Mr. Hunt." He said before getting gene his drink.
They sat there in silent, both watching as Ray attempted to flirt. As she got up and walked away they both laughed returning to their drinks. "Will he ever learn?" questioned Alex.
"It's Raymondo we're on 'bout Bolls, no." she laughed. "S'not bin same wi'out ya bolls."
She raised an eyebrow. "That you're way of saying you've missed me gene?"
"No one t' prance 'round in tight jeans is there bolls."
"You know how to falter a girl Gene Hunt."
"I know I do bolls." She just smirked as she drank her wine. "Seriously though bolls, I didn't mean t' shoot yer."
"I know Gene."
"And I 'ave yer know." She looked up at him. "Missed yer, and yer physo rubbish. Actually 'elps god 'elp us all. But if yer ever say that I said that, then I'll stamp yer back side wi more than just a stamp."
"Thanks Gene!" they both laughed.
The night went on, a wedding came in and Alex decided she wanted to go up. She got up and smiled at Gene. "I'm off up, you fancy finishing the bottle in my flat?"
"'ang on a moment bolls, you invitin' me up?"
"Yes Gene."
"Luv t' bolls."
He grabbed a bottle and they left. No one noticed them apart from shaz who wore a slight smile. They sat on her sofa that night drinking and laughing. As the evening drew on they got closer until she rested her head on his shoulder. That was how they fell asleep that night. He kissed her head gently before he fell asleep. Neither knew if it would amount to anything or not. But for now, all that matter was that she was back, she was safe and they were friends. Anything else would come in its own time…
