I had to save her. She would've done the same for me. 'Stay here', I ordered Christian. 'You look after them, I don't want you following me'.I wanted to sound firm, but my voice broke nearly sending me into tears. 'I need to help her, I can't let her fend for herself. I love her.'

I gave one last hopeful look towards them and set off down the road towards the house.

I stood in the doorway, watching what was happening. I scanned the room. Gun. I picked it up before I could realize what was happened 'I'm Hungry, I just thought you should-' Enough was enough, that arsehole was not going any further. 'Let her go, or I'll kill you'. My voice sounded threatening, but inside, I was dying. It was a stupid idea, but Rose was a bad ass, she could easily use that one second to distract that one Strigoi. 'Sure, Try it' Isaiah's words pierced into me, triggering me. He can't get away with this.

I tensed, and I fired. I didn't stop firing until the gun clicked, warning me that I had failed. I had failed, not only for myself, but for Rose. He was still stood their, . onto her. I threw the gun down in frustration but still not letting down my guard.

'Get Out!' I winced at Rose's words, but I couldn't leave her. I was in the safety of the sun, one step and I could be dead. I ran ahead, heading into Isaiah. This could give Rose some time. Isaiah let her go, throwing her into Elena, embracing his full power and strength into me, pelting both hands onto my head.

Pain shrieked through the whole of my body. I used the last of my strength to look off of the floor and into the gaze of Rose, her face was simple, but pretty. And, suddenly it was like time froze. I rose, feeing no more pain, finally feeling peaceful and content. And then, then everything hit me. I was dead, I hadn't saved Rose. I had left her lonely. I walked towards her, kissing her on her forehead. She was unhappy, lonely. But, I jerked away from her as the fish tank exploded. Shattered glass flew everywhere, hitting Rose. I wasn't there to protect her anymore.I gave my final look to Rose, Disheartened.

I solemnly promised, I would return.
