First Times

Ennis and Alma:
At their honeymoon Ennis didn't at first think on Jack. They were at a small ranch owned by Alma's aunt and uncle outside o' town. But later, under the dim light, Alma's hair became dark and then all Ennis could see was Jack - turned Alma around, did to her what she hated then, and always. In Ennis's eyes it was Jack lay down, opening himself up to him. Jack wus his and always would be. In quiet times to come Alma wondered – wondered just where Ennis, the Ennis she'd know'd had gone.
Jack and Lureen:
That first time Jack was aroused – no-one, not even Ennis had made play of wanting him so much from the beginning – sides, Lureen wus a good lookin gal…and rich. Jack was lonely, someone wanted him fer himself at long last …had found his mate, of sorts. Thing wus….she wusn't Ennis.
