Takes place after The Last Olympian.
Percy was fast asleep in his cabin, having a wonderful dream about Annabeth, his Mom, and blue cookies.
There was pounding on his door. "Time to get up Seaweed brain!" Annabeth yelled. "There's a new camper, and you need to give them a
tour!"
"I'm coming, I'm coming." Percy grumbled sleepily while putting on his clothes.
"Where from?"
"Canada." Annabeth answered, Percy had asked this because the gods had kids everywhere in the world (except Alaska),
they even had one from China
"So where is he?"
"She," Annabeth corrected. "and in the arena."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ TIME SKIP (at the arena)~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"That's her." Annabeth said, pointing to a thin girl with brown hair, blue eyes, almost as pale as Nico, looked about ten, and a book geek.
The reason Percy could tell she was a book geek was, well, she had about ten books in a stack next to her. It seemed that all the kids around her age were trying get her attention. Making fun of her, or trying to make friends, Percy didn't know.
"Percy," Annabeth said "meet Serena Bloodshed, Camp Half-Blood's first Canadian camper. Let's go introduce ourselves."
As Percy and Annabeth walked up to Serena, Annabeth kissed Percy's cheek "I'll see you later Seaweed brain, I have to go teach some
new campers how to use a dagger."
"Bye Wise Girl!" Percy called after her. What happened to introducing ourselves? He thought.
Percy cleared his throat and said "Eh, eh eh eh Percy. Eh eh?*"
Serena looked at him with a puzzled expression and said "...Er?...What...?"
"Ohhhh, I get it you only speak in questions? Am I right?"
"Umm...No" Serena said in perfect English "I speak English. Unlike some weirdos..."
She threw a look over at the kids trying to get her attention, screaming 'Eh eh eh eh eh eh eh!'
"So, you don't say 'Eh'?" Percy said, faking surprise. He knew Canadians didn't use 'eh' as their only form of communication, but he wanted the boys, who were in hearing range, to know.
"No." Serena explained. "Well, not all the time, just occasionally. For example,'Love the poutine, eh?'"
"Question." Percy said "What's poutine?" He truly didn't know this, he hoped it was food.
"French Fries, Gravy, and curds**, it's delicious" she answered "I can't believe that you don't know what it is."
"But you do live in igloos, right?" Percy asked hopefully. It would be so cool to live in an igloo! He thought. Hah! Cool! Igloo! I wonder if there are any igloo shaped ice-cream cakes? I want one for my birthday. Maybe I can get a polar bear! That would be epic!
"No." Serena said breezily, interrupting his thoughts. "That's just a rumor."
"Oh" Percy said, some-what disappointed.
"So..." Serena said "I'm hungry."
"But we just had lunch two hours ago!" Percy said shocked. Sadly, he hadn't been able to partake in the gorging of stomachs, for he had been blissfully asleep.
"Yeah," Serena said. "But, that was more of a snack for me, I eat a lot. And, back home it's lunch. Before you ask a dumb question, it's called jet-
lag."
Just then, Annabeth came back and told Serena "Chiron said you can have some poutine as a snack at your Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. Did you really eat a steak as big as a beach ball?"
Serena nodded. "It was a tough one, too. But, more in size to a bowling ball."
Percy looked at her in amazement. How could one so small, eat so much? It wouldn't be a big deal for him to eat that much, he did so every day, but for tiny little Serena?
"I didn't catch your names. Who are you?" Serena asked.
"Percy!" Annabeth looked accusingly at him.
"Annabeth!" He said back. He knew he would eat dirt later, but he would live.
"Okay, then. I'm gonna go eat. I'll leave you two to... Whatever." Serena ran towards the dining pavilion.
"Wait!" Annabeth shouted, running after her. "We need to give you a tour!"
Percy shook his head in confusion."I will never understand girls." He said to himself. "or Canadians for that matter. Actually, I don't understand anyone."
