Embracing The Moment

We fall into the space
Between our souls
And we escape the agony
In a few heartbeats.
My cells ache with regret,
Longing, confusion:
Your arms encircle, entrap
Atoms of feeling I thought
Had escaped.
Emotion permeates through
Layers of skin, all the
Layers of protection
So well-constructed,
Broken down by striking
Enzymes of feeling.
Is this moment the catalyst
For a thousand dreams?
As we finally unlock,
Emptiness prevails.
Sleeplessness awaits us.
Our reverie will be as precious
As the reality
Just shared.
