Disclaimer: I do not own anything Kingdom Hearts or anything belonging to Square Enix. All bitching may be sent to the Nobody Brigade hotline at 1-800-orgy13. We may get back to you if we feel that you're bitching is annoying enough to render a response. Here is our policy: we do not care that characters may be ooc or that settings and plot take part in an alternate universe. Thank you for your concern, and remember, flames are welcome for I use them to roast my coffee and marshmallows.
Prologue
Rain pelted a fast tempo onto the roof above. People, friends and distant relatives, made their way to the front of the funeral home. Condolences and sympathetic murmurs passed from barely parted lips, passing through the ears of two young souls. Blank stares and soft thanks passed automatically to each well-wisher.
The burial was quick and sober, mirroring the surrounding weather and cemetery. Flowers adorned the coffins lying deep in the damp void of dirt. After the last bit of dirt covered the small chasm of once empty earth, the crowd traversed back to the funeral home in favor of warmth and a dry setting, leaving two figures under one umbrella.
Larxene waited by the frame of her twin's room. Her posture reflected her tense mood. Her eyes reflected emotions of worry and empathy towards the from laying sprawled upon the bed.
Demyx lay prone. His breathing was even and continuous without a hitch. Larxene sighed. She walked to the side of his bed and sat sideways. Demyx continued to stare at the ceiling. Larxene's face morphed into one of sadness. She carded her fingers gently through her brother's hair. The touch must have broken his stupor, because he turned to her with a pained expression.
"Larxene?"
"I'm here, Demy-doodle." Her voice warbled a bit at the use of his old nickname.
"Are we doing the right thing, I mean, leaving Radiant Gardens?"
"Why do you ask?"
"I mean, I know its only you and me know that mo…mom and dad are, you know. Should we really be leaving them and our home?" Larxene took a deep breath to steel herself. She looked Demyx right in the eyes.
"Demyx, to be honest, I don't know. But I will say this, mom and dad have each other know and they're not suffering anymore. Our home will still be here until one of us or both of us come back. I know that I can't stay here with ghosts of mom and dad in every little part of this house. Besides, uncle will take care of us." Demyx rolled over onto his side to face his sister at a better angle.
"Okay."
The next day brought many tears. A small mini van was loaded with both siblings' worldly possessions. It was time for a change. Larxene and Demyx gave their final farewells and watched as their childhood home disappeared on the rear view mirror.
So yeah! I hoped you enjoy my little prologue. This is one of my more serious and longer projects I want to seriously work on, so there will be updates often, hopefully if my college schedule doesn't kill me. So leave some love or leave some flames. Feedback is always a plus for me and it just makes my day when people fav a story. So thanks for reading and keep out for more.
