Hello, this is my first "Now You See Me" story and the first one-shot I have ever written so please be honest. This is one of my all time favourite movies so I hope I do it justice...
Henley sat at the desk in front of the computer looking over the plan for their Las Vegas show. A few more days and The Four Horsemen would be part of The Eye...if it existed. Merritt was behind her explaining Jack's role in show to him. And Danny? Danny was lying on the sofa to her right playing with a deck of cards. She stopped her typing for a moment and looked at him. Watching him practice reminded her of the old days, when she was merely his assistant. He was so clueless. Even back then she had loved the bones of him and he never looked twice. The day she quit was the hardest of her life. She had worked hard since then, working the circuit to get to where she was now. And she still loved him. And he was still clueless. "Henley?" Snapping out of her trance, Henley looked over to Danny. Jack and Merritt had disappeared. "I asked if you were OK." Her confused look must have spoken for her. "You're crying." Putting her hand to her eyes, she realised that he was right. Well, I'm not telling him I'm in love with him, she thought. "Just thinking. If this works we're gonna meet the person who has been giving us instructions for the last year." He stood up and walked over to her. "I'm exited about it too. Come on, Tressler has a car outside." As she stood up he put an arm around her. "It's really good to be working with you again Henley." Following Danny out of the door Henley's heart involuntary skipped a beat. Maybe, just maybe, I have a chance this time...
