A/N- Hey, everyone! So, it's been a while, huh? Sorry 'bout that, I've been busy since school started. Also, I've recently become obsessed with Kuroshitsuji, or Black Butler, and couldn't find the muse to write anything Hetalia-related. I promised myself I'd finish my first fan-fic, though, so to get back into the Hetalia-mood, I wrote this little oneshot here. Just some pointless USUK fluff, and extremely OoC since I need to re-watch the series later.
Dogs and Cats
It was a particularly nice day in London, England. The sun shone brightly, and not a single cloud was in sight. A welcomed change from the usual gray skies and rainy weather, Arthur thought. The Englishman was sitting in his study, preparing for the World Conference that was to be held a week later. By his side was none other than Alfred F. Jones, or as Arthur preferred to call him, an idiot.
"Hey, Artie? Can I ask you something?" Alfred was sprawled out on the couch directly in front of the desk where Arthur sat.
Arthur sighed at the use of that particular nickname, what was so hard about just saying 'Arthur'? "Yes, what is it, Alfred?"
"So I was at Japan's house the other day, and that Grelk guy-"
"Greece?"
"Yeah, so he was there, too, and he asked me if I like dogs or cats better. Which do you like, Artie?" the American asked. He sat up and faced the other, tilting his head and blinking his pure blue eyes in a way that made Arthur's heart flutter.
Blushing, Arthur thought for a moment. "Hm, I like both. Dogs can be wonderful when trained properly, obedient and loyal (unlike certain colonies). They never ask for anything other than food and attention," the Englishman narrowed his eyes, "On the other hand, a dog can also be a nuisance. Their loud barks and coarse growls, and they are too dependent on humans, as well."
"I guess."
"But then again, cats are independent and do not need anyone to help them survive. They do not need companionship like a dog does, they are perfectly capable of surviving by themselves. Perhaps they are what one might call too stubborn, though."
Alfred nodded. "Everyone should have someone to catch them when they fall, we all should have someone to trust."
"Yes, I suppose you have a point."
"But you still didn't answer my question, Artie. Do you like cats or dogs more?" Alfred asked.
Arthur stood up from his position behind the large wooden desk and walked over to the blonde. "Well, I believe I prefer cats. They remind me of you. Strong and capable of surviving on their own, but yet, still craving affection. But you are stubborn, too, Alfred. Denying that you need help, always trying to aid others when you're already worn and exhausted." The Englishman leans in and lightly presses his lips against the other's. "But I still love you, Alfred, my sweet little kitty."
A/N- Bring on the flames! I just tainted the beauty that is USUK/cats/dogs with this. I admit, the dogs/cats thing was influenced by Seb's love of cats... So, until next time, reviews and favorites are highly appreciated!
