I wanna learn to rope and ride.

I wanna ride through the plains and the desert

out west of the great divide.

Emily sighed as she saw Jack talking with his friends. He had finally made enough money to get to Santa Fe. He had asked her to come with him but she knew he thought she wouldn't. That she was much to proper to go riding west with a poor man.

I wanna hear the coyotes singing

as the sun sets in the west.

I wanna be a cowboys sweetheart

Thats the life I'd love the best.

But she decided that western life sounded fun. And that surroundings didn't matter if you wanted to be with someone. But did dating someone for a year make it ok to run away out west with them?

I wanna ride a paint

move it at a run.

I wanna feel the wind in my face.

Her family would object, of course. But from how Jack described it, riding horses and farming didn't seem that hard. And it was warm out there. Emily hated winter and seasons in general. Jack made it all sound so appealing

Emily adjusted her hat and strode over to Jack.

"Jack" She said softly.

"yeah"

"I've thought about it and if you still want me to, I'll go to Santa Fe with you."

"Alright!" Jack yelled "Now this Cowboy got a sweetheart"
