Dear parents or guardians of Fred and George Weasley,
This letter is being sent to inform the legal guardians of Messrs Weasley that they have been seen away from school premises on days which were not scheduled by the staff at Hogwarts, one of many rules broken by the boys. Such behaviour has never been and shall never be permitted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please take into consideration that one more infraction on their part may result in a severe punishment, such as immediate suspension or even expulsion. Drastic measures must be taken to enforce important rules.
Infractions, as such, include but are not limited to: use of untested "Weasley Wizard Wheezes" products on students, illegal substances being used in the aforementioned products, irritating the House Elves by sneaking around in the kitchen, being in the kitchen, being caught out after curfew, using the spell used to enchant bludgers on peas, tomatoes, plums, oranges, or any other food item. Or any other item that is not a Bludger. Please note that addressing the Professors by their first names – especially the Senior Undersecretary to the Minister for Magic – is inappropriate and will not be tolerated. Misbehaviour will be reported to the Senior Undersecretary to the Minister for Magic, who has the authority to call in aurors and the Wizengamot when dealing with miscreants.
The reason behind such misbehavior is currently being looked into. People are searching the Head of House, Minerva McGonagall, and what influence he/she has as well as family history. The staff of Hogwarts is completely sure the source of these problems will be found and dealt with appropriately. Please note that Messrs Weasley will be attending detention with a Mr Filch at nighttime every day until all problems have been resolved, and the students of the school are no longer in danger. Their responsibilities as Quidditch players have been suspended for the time being, and will only be returned upon full recovery from their recent poor behaviour. If no such change is percieved, Quidditch may be banned from Mssrs Weasley forever.
May it also be noted that the brooms used until now are of poor quality, unimaginably unstable, and quite outdated. It would do well for the family to purchase new, possibly more expensive ones as soon as possible. Unless, of course, new brooms are too expensive. The Senior Undersecretary to the Minister for Magic would like to inform the legal guardiens of Fred and George Weasley that poor brooms could also lead to the banning of Quidditch privilages.
In addition to detentions with our lovely Mr Filch who will take matters of discipline exceptionally seriously, Messrs Weasley will have detention with our High Inquisitor of Hogwarts as well. Any missed detentions or meetings will result in severe punishment, and any more class, school, or meal interruptions will be dealt with swiftly. Any accomplices found acting on the orders of Fred or George – the Staff at Hogwarts has access to Veritaserum and are licensed to use it – will also faces serious consequences. If any student is found under the Imperious curse, the twins would face Azkaban sentences, for only they would perform such spells in Hogwarts.
It is also the High Inquisitor's duty to inform whoever is reading this letter that Professor Sybil Trelawny has been replaced, and that in our esteemed Headmaster's absence, Madam Dolores Umbridge will be filling his position. Rest assured that the school is in good hands.
Hogwarts' High Inquisitor and Senior Undersecretary to the Minister for Magic,
Dolores Umbridge
Please send a response by owl, a meeting may need to be scheduled to discuss further action needed.
