A Father and His Daughter: Background story of Garmadon and how his daughter came to the Underworld

Garmadon had just been thrown into the Underworld by his brother whose name no longer held any meaning for him. Granted of course he was now Lord Garmadon of the Underworld with his very own Skullkin army. But he wanted his wife and children by his side. What if his spiteful brother decided to train them in the way of Ninja and turn them against him? No, he would not let that happen, he would somehow bring them all here, far away from his meddling, goody two shoes brother.

He uses his shadow form to spy on his brother and discovers to his shock that Misako has dropped his son off at a horrible boarding school and plans to do something similar to his daughter as well, when she returns from dropping Lloyd off. Deciding not to let that happen, he calls for his Skullkin army.

"Kruncha!" the dark lord calls.

"Yes, Lord Garmadon?" responds Kruncha.

"I want you and some Skeleton warriors to go to my wretched brother's monastery and bring me my daughter, Gwen. I will show you which room she is in and I want you to carefully bring her here. If you fail, the consequences will be severe and I will show you no mercy" the dark lord says harshly.

"Yes, Lord Garmadon" chorus the Skullkin while gulping in fear.

The Skullkin arrive in the room Lord Garmadon showed them through a portal. There on the bed, they see the sleeping girl. In order not to wake her up, Kruncha pours in a tea that keeps the drinker asleep, into her mouth so she won't wake up when they pick her up. Kruncha gently picks up the sleeping form of Gwen and steps through the portal right into the throne room of Lord Garmadon who immediately takes his daughter into his arms. For once in his life, a genuine smile is plastered on the face of the dark lord as he tucks his daughter into bed in his private chambers.

She soon awakens and is very confused as to where she is. "Hello? Mommy? Uncle Wu? Where am I?" she asks aloud in a fearful and nervous tone.

Just then, her father soon enters the room with a tray of dinner and sees his daughter's fearful gaze and walks over to comfort her as she looks on with wide eyes.

"Hey Princess. Don't you recognize me?" he asks her gently.

Recognizing the nickname she asks hesitantly, "Daddy?"

"Yes, Princess. I'm here. I will take care of you and you won't ever have to leave" responds Lord Garmadon gently.

He gives her the dinner he brought in along with a small cup of what seems to be tea and then plays with her for a while until she falls asleep. He tucks her in gently and then leaves the room.

As the years pass by, Lord Garmadon trains his daughter in the way of a Ninja and Spinjitzu. He soon discovers that besides having control over every single element, she also harnesses the power of magic, which could be very useful against his brother who seems to be hiding the weapons and creating a map should anything happen to him.

Lord Garmadon might be a villain, but he wasn't a terrible father at all. He loved his daughter as all fathers should and didn't want her to be taken away. So in his opinion, he was a wonderful father.
