For What Is Gained
Summary: The Malfoy family is freed of most of the charges but the freedom comes with a price. Narcissa struggles after the War.
A/N and warnings: My poor attempt in poetry. This is for the first Daily Prophet Competition at QLFC and the task was to match the week's theme which was relationships and fire. Post-War, established Lucissa, Narcissa's POV.
It's easy to miss
And easier to judge
If you see us kiss
Please don't hold grudge
The sneers, the glares
It's enough already
Why don't you see
The pain you put us through?
~o~
Should I rejoice for what is gained?
Or for what is lost should I cry?
I hold my head up high
You wonder but you don't ask why
I'm proud of my choices
But you make me scared
Is there a future
In a world of hatred?
~o~
Our last name perhaps will bring us down
For a sake of something we cannot undone
Alone I shan't go down this fiery path
We'll face the consequences, we'll face the wrath
But leave out our only son
That's my final wish
What is lost is forever gone
May the one last kiss
Break this curse
