A.N. I don't own Soul Eater. If I did, Maka and Soul would be together, Kid would be living with Crona and the world would be a better place. But I don't.
Rain. Some people love it, others hate it. Soul Eater Evans was one who hated it to an extent, the uncool aroma in the air, the sound of the rain hitting the glass, and the boredom that came with it. Of course on this day it was pouring in Death City. And Soul had nothing to do. Mostly due to the fact that on these days Maka chose to do nothing but read.
Soul sat on the couch, TV on, but paying no attention to it. Instead he was looking at Maka, who was too busy reading to notice. With Blair out working, there was no way to take her mind from the book. Butt Soul decided to try anyways.
"Hey Maka?"
"Hm?"
"What would you do if I punched you?" Soul asked hoping she would put her book down.
Maka didn't bother looking up from her book as she replied, "I would punch you back."
Soul nodded, and went back to doing nothing. Moments pass in silents. Soul decides to try again.
"What would you do if I slapped you?"
This time Maka actually looked up at him. "I would slap you back."
Soul took a breath, this time he would say something that meant something to him. "What would you do if I loved you, Maka?"
Maka dropped her book and turned red as a blush covered her face. "W-what?"
"You heard me. What would you do?"
"I- I'd love you back." She spat out after a minute.
"Good." He replied in a cool fashion. Giving her a toothy grin.
"What do you mean 'Good'" She asked quickly.
"I mean it's good that you'd love me back, because I love you."
To this Maka's blush deepened as she smiled, "I love you too, Soul."
After a while the rain cleared up and Blair returned home to find a sleeping Soul and Maka curled up on the couch. "I knew it." She purred slyly, leaving the two to sleep in peace.
