Dean Winchester liked to think of himself as a simple man.
Not greedy, he wasn't brought up that way.
If his life consisted of women, booze, bacon cheeseburgers, pie, and cruising down the road with his girl… then it was all good.
Oh yeah, and Sammy.
The only thing he truly couldn't get by without.
Because himself be damned, the rule was simple in his book: protect Sam always, never let him down, never put yourself first because you're not worth it.
You never have been, no matter your baby brother's argument.
Just keep Sammy alive.
It was strangely satisfying.
