Chewed up and Spat Out

Challenge word: snap and surge coz I missed last week's
Warnings: none
Summary: One of the boys has been caught up in a tornado that's chewed him up and spat him out worse for wear.
When he wakes, the sky's washed clean. Sun warms his battered cheek as if the storm had never happened.
He blinks.
Still breathing. Still alive.
He tries to sit, gasps as agony surges through him, followed by dark.
He opens his eyes, sometime later. The sky's full of stars. He remembers the tornado; it had picked him up, thrown him around then snapped him like a brittle twig. He remembers falling, dropped with all the other debris, but nothing else.
He knows there's something missing because apart from the pain, he's empty.
He's only half a person when he's alone.
