Every time, since the World Meetings began, and even before that, it was always the same. All the nations besides himself and Russia had left, and yet still nobody noticed. They never did, not even Kumajiro remembered.

"Like always…" he sighed, hugging his polar bear closer. If his own pet couldn't remember him, why did he think the other nations would? They were always mistaking him for his brother, America, or simply ignoring him.

France raised him, yet ignored him most the time. America was his brother, yet only beat him up or used him to avoid getting beat up. England never noticed him, and if he did, he never remembered it was Canada, not America. As for the others, he didn't know their reasons, he rarely talked to them. There were few people he ever talked to, it was simply three people: Russia, Cuba and Kumajiro.

"Are jou ok?" Canada looked up to see Russia in front of him looking back at him. Not through him like others did, but AT him. He couldn't believe that Russia had acknowledged him now of all times though.

"Y-yeah…" Canada stammered. "It's just everybody ignores me or doesn't remember who I am…it's always been like that and I'm lonely."

"I see. Vell, if it helps as all, I think jou are very….cute. Like bear jou hold now." Russia replied, and for once gave a genuinely sweet smile, at which Canada blushed and shyly smiled back. But the thought still crossed Canada's mind…did he mean it? Even if Russia didn't mean it, he didn't care, it was something nice, and it was said to him.

"Why do y-you say that? You've n-never said anything before now…" Canada murmured. Russia blinked and tilted his head a bit to the side, thinking.

"Jou ask why? Hm…vell, I suppose I never really thought of saying anything to jou before now. Jou alvays seem to vant to be alone. Doesn't matter, I told jou, that does matter, da?" he shrugged simply and Canada slowly nodded. As scary as Russia seemed to others, he really could be very kind.

"I guess…" he said softly in reply.

"I'll admit, I do like jou…Matvey." He smiled again, using the Russian equivalent of Canada's real name. Hearing it, Canada gaped a little bit…nobody had ever really known his actual name either, they forgot it like they did him. "Vould you like to do something? Nyet? Da?"

"Da…" he nodded weakly. Russia leaned forward and kissed his lips lightly, pulling him into a hug.

"Good…and know I vill never ignore you, not ever in future, Matvey. Promise." He vowed, Canada smiled happily for once. He had been so alone for so long…but now, he wouldn't be alone anymore. He'd have Russia…and something hit him in that moment. He definitely liked the older nation, not only that, but he looked forward to things to come.
