A/U: So to make up for last time, I've decided to write this one-shot as well. It's going to be a very short one-shot, most likely four hundred to five hundred words. But hey, all good stories don't have to be long do they? So this one-shot is about Hollyleaf...yes, yet another one, what fun. Please enjoy :D

On The Other Side

I should have known. All along you were just trying to fool me, weren't you? Even when we were apprentices I sensed that you were different from me. I was normal, and you...Well, you had gifts. Why did you never tell me I couldn't be the one? Why didn't you stop me?

Back in the days when we were kits, Squirrelflight would tell us that we were all special in our own way. I didn't realize that she wasn't right. Oh how naive I was back than. How I long for those days when we used to play around the fresh-kill pile.

You never knew that I protected you all along, didn't you Lionblaze? Flirting with Heathertail may have been a kits' game to you, but it could only lead to darkness. Even Jayfeather, whose sole purpose was to discover the prophecy, fell in love once. He may not have known it, but he sensed something other than friendship in Willowshine.

I had to get her on the other side. Just like Heathertail. Both knew full well what the cost would be if they broke the warrior code.

The warrior code meant the world to me. And yet, I broke it myself. I turned into a monster when I killed Ashfur down by the stream.

Those dark blue eyes were what really set me off. He was on the other side too. The Dark Forest was training him. If I didn't stop him, than who would?

Once again, I had broken the warrior code by almost killing that selfish cat. I dare not speak her name. She is on the other side...She still loves that piece of fox-dung who calls himself a father.

I was proud when I saw the shock within his eyes at the Gathering. I was proud when she started shaking uncontrollably. It was that pride that gave me the strength to continue.

Jayfeather, Lionblaze. You may not know it yet, but I survived. I am on the other side. The other side of the lake, where RiverClan lives. They know I am there, but they do nothing about it. They too, are on the other side.

A/U: I know it's a bit confusing, but it's my first one-shot. Please let me know what you think of it :D
