You try to ignore it, but you can't anymore....You know what he did, but you know WHY he did it...

You know what will happen if you don't do it, and you don't know if you're willing to face that....

He calls out to you; tells you they're coming. He asks you to hurry. You just nod your head.
17 Seconds...
The video finally loads, revealing the secret he wants you to hide...
16 Seconds....
You start to panic. What you're about to do is wrong, and you know it. You know what could happen if you get caught, but you also know what will happen if you don't do it....
15 Seconds...
He pleads with you, by this point begging. You think about his son, his life, you life.
10 Seconds.....
You know why he did it- to protect you. You would be dead otherwise. You gulp as you look from him to your computer screen.
5 Seconds...
You give in. Despite every ounce of morals in you, you delete it. They'll never know....
0 Seconds...
They enter the room, asking you if you found any video evidence. You both lie and say no. They nod and leave, having no reason to think that you're lying.
You feel guilty for betraying their trusts, for protecting him. But you know that by protecting him, you've protected yourself. You both exchange knowing glances, not a word uttered. You stand up; he follows you. He quietly thanks you. You just nod....
You go home. He stays at the office late. Your boyfriend asks you what's the matter. You give him a smile and tell him you had a bad case. He hugs you, and you hug him back. You take a quick shower before heading off to bed. He follows you. He wraps his arms around you, making you smile. He quickly falls asleep, but you don't. As you lay in bed you stare off into space.
What's done is done....you think.
Then you finally sleep....
