Erm, so yeah, this is the first fanfiction that I've published.

I wrote it to distract myself from writing an essay.

…Don't own, obviously.

"Judey!" Max's voice interrupted the artist from his sketch and he looked up.

"Mm?"

"Please, please, please, I need 50 cents, can I borrow 50 cents?" Max begged.

"What for?"

"I just, please, it's only 50 cents, I'll pay you back. "

"I just want to know what it's for, mate,"

"Aw, c'mon, Jude, it doesn't really matter. I'll pay you back tomorrow!"

Jude shrugged and knew he wouldn't get an answer from his stubborn friend. His fingers were slightly numb from the cold so with some difficulty, he reached into his jean pocket and drew out his change.

"A'right, two quarters; are you going somewhere?" Jude asked as he handed Max the coins.

"Thanks buddy, I owe you one," and with that, Max left the apartment.

"Use it well…"

---

About ten minutes later, Jude's drawing was interrupted again as Max came back through the door and slumped down in the couch next to Jude, a cup in his hand. Jude stared at Max quizzically.

"Hot chocolate; really wanted some." Max explained, sensing Jude's questioning gaze.

"Is that why you needed the 50 cents?" Jude asked, slightly incredulous.

"Yep. It's really good hot chocolate." Max nodded.

Jude scoffed with a short laugh and went back to his picture while Max blew onto the surface of his warm beverage to cool it off slightly. Jude's paper on the tip of his pencil felt slightly damp and his fingers were now quite numb. He decided to rest his sketchbook for a bit and looked over at Max. The hot chocolate in his hands was giving off a steam of white into the cold air and along with it, the scent of chocolate.

"Can I have some?" Jude asked, almost surprised by the stupid request.

"No, you laughed at me," Max said with a childish tone.

"Hardly!" and with that, the Liverpudlian reached over and in response Max pulled his hot chocolate to his lips and drank a sip. As Max lowered the cup, Jude seized the chance and reached over once more, this time with success. He put his lips to the rim of the cup but unfortunately for him, it indeed was "hot" chocolate and the liquid burned his lips.

"Hot!" Jude exclaimed, while fanning air with his hand to his lips to soothe it.

"I know I am, but you stole my hot chocolate!" Max said, caring more about that than about his friend.

"It was my fifty cents you bought it with!"

"Well I was gonna pay you back. Anyways, I went out into the cold to get it, so it's mine. I demand you give it back."

"It's just as cold here as it is outside! And how am I supposed to give it back when I didn't even take a sip?"

Max stared at his friend, and Jude wondered if he was trying to think up a solution.

"What?" Jude asked, after Max's gaze was steady for a bit. He was of course, taken by surprise when Max's cool lips met his own with some force and soothed it from its burn. Jude's eyes widened as a slight blush crept into his cheeks. In what felt like ages but was, in reality, less than a second, Jude wondered what to do but in the end, he gave into the kiss. Max broke it off shortly.

"Got my hot chocolate back, I guess," Max said, his face still close to Jude's.

Jude thought. "Then you still owe me 50 cents," and with that, the two boys burst into laughter.
