The Farm Girl at Sunset
By thehylianhistorian
The summer sun sinks
o'er the hills
Across this ancient
land,
Bringing to those who
see its light
A sight ever so grand.
A beautiful sun, the
color of gold,
Surrounded by skies of
red,
Bathing Hyrule in its
soft, summer glow,
Kissing goodnight its
sweet head.
I sit here now, upon
this fence,
Gazing at this; such a
scene!
But next to me, here on
this fence,
Sits a sight ev'n
more serene.
She seems like a simple
farm girl,
And maybe she is to
you,
But this farm girl has
done something
That no princess could
e'er do.
She's stolen my
heart, I must confess;
Locked it up with a
key.
And I don't think
that it will ever
Be returned unto me.
She stares off as I do,
enjoying the dusk,
Closing her eyes with
each sigh.
She basks in the warmth
of the last daylight hours
As eventide draws e'er
nigh.
Her blue eyes, they
sparkle, like clearest water,
Reflecting the rays of
the sun.
And yet, they absorb me
like deep endless pools,
Speaking words that
make my heart run.
Her hair is caught in
the breeze passing by,
Fluttering free and
untamed.
It dances like fire
about her sweet face
Its color is one and
the same.
I reach out my hand and
stretch it towards hers
Resting there on the
fence post.
I gently cover her
fingers with mine,
This hand of whom I
love most.
She turns her head to
me, neither startled nor scared,
And we stare at each
other awhile,
As a very faint blush
rises into her cheeks
And her beautiful lips
form a smile.
I hop off the fence,
turn to my love,
And offer a hand to get
down.
She places her arms
about my neck,
Then I lift her down to
the ground.
Once on the grass, I
can't help but gaze
Into those eyes ever
blue,
And I notice while
still in my trance
She's staring into
mine, too.
I lift a hand up from
her waist
And run it through her
hair.
Like silk it slips
through my fingers,
Smoother than flowing
air.
She raises her hand,
makes contact with mine,
And presses my palm to
her cheek;
Closing her eyes as I
gently caress
The soft skin of whose
touch I seek.
My thumb moves so
slightly, and brushes her lips,
And from her escapes a
low moan.
She then lets her hands
come to rest on my chest
And stretches her face
to my own.
Her breath is sweet and
intoxicating,
Her mouth not an inch
from mine.
Oh! How long I've
wished to taste her sweet kiss,
To drink of that finest
wine.
I lean my head forward,
sealing our lips,
And feel the ground
drop from my feet.
My head fills with air,
unable to think,
Hearing only my own
heartbeat.
I delve even deeper,
she answers back,
And I draw her ever
closer,
Feeling our passion
burn like that red sun
Which does not wish to
surrender.
But daylight must end
and nighttime resume,
And thus does our kiss
dissipate.
But love ends not in
that time or that place
For we two confirming
our fate.
For just as dawn brings
brand new light,
So too does each
embrace
Fill my heart with love
for this girl;
She who makes my heart
race.
