WHAT SLATER HEARD
DISCLAIMER
Got the idea after watching "Beauty and the Screech" and will serve as a flashback for "Behind His Hazel Eyes" and will have an explanation for why it hasn't been mentioned yet. Belongs to NBC.
A.C. Slater had his dad stop when he saw the house. The car made a quiet humming noise.
"I'll go get him, Dad," Slater said.
"All right,' Major Slater agreed. The boy got out of the car and walked up to the door. As he did so, he heard what sounded like arguing. At first he couldn't make out what was being said, but as he got closer, the words became clearer.
"Come on, Zacky. Can't you stay a while?" he heard a man plead.
"No, I can't. I told you: I'm going to a concert," Zack Morris responded.
"It's one concert. I'd really like you to stay home," Mr. Morris stated.
"Dad, don't start this tonight. Please," Zack emphasized firmly. Morris? Slater thought to himself. What was going on?
"Don't you take that tone with me, boy," Mr. Morris warned.
"Back off!" Zack shouted. Then, the door opened to reveal the blond-haired boy. He slammed the door shut behind him before his father could say anything.
"You okay, Preppie?" Slater questioned in concern.
"Let's just go. We're gonna be late," Zack answered. He got into the car before Slater could question him any further. Slater had no choice but to follow Zack into the car.
"You boys ready?" as the teens buckled themselves in.
"Yes, Sir," they chorused. Major Slater put the car in gear and they drove off. Slater leaned back in his seat and made himself comfortable, having already forgotten what he had heard at the door.
