A/N: I've been ill this last week. Hasn't been fun. Hopefully whatever it was has passed now. Anyway, I wrote this to cheer me up. Thanks be to Mingsmommy for the beta.

You know you really shouldn't be in the building, but that thought is pushed to the back of your brain as you barrel pass the stunned members of the nightshift, not stopping or looking back. You hear a number of them call out your name, their tones varying between shock and anger. You still don't turn around, but continue down the hall.

She is here. If you were more of a betting guy, you would bet, well, not your life, but something that means a lot to you. Maybe the patch of garden Sara let you have to do anything you like with.

Other commands are thrown in with your name now. Stop. Wait. An occasional Hey you there! But you ignore them all, intent on reaching your destination.

Arriving at the pushed-to office door, you ease your way inside, managing to do so stealthily enough to not set off that singing monstrosity above the door jamb. And then you stop. She is there, sitting in the chair, her back to you. You smile. You knew she was here.

A crowd has followed your retreat, and they now huddle around the doorway, none of them following you inside this inner sanctum she has apparently made.

Silently, you move, coming to a stop by her side. Your eyes meet hers, and she gasps.

"What are you…" she begins, but then her hand is on your neck, and your face is being kissed repeatedly, and your eyes are closed in bliss.

"Sara…"

She stops kissing you, raising her head at the utterance of her name. "Hey, Gil."

There's a catch to her voice, you notice. "Hi. Sara. Sara. Oh honey." There's a catch there too, but you think it's allowed. After all, it's not everyday the person you are closest too in the world comes back after months of absence.

She's crying now, fat tears falling and landing on you, and you raise your head to kiss them away. She laughs though her tears at the action, pushing your head away slightly. "I'm ok. I'm ok," she mutters to you.

Her hands are stroking your back, your sides, your face. And then Gil is there with you, and he's taking you both into his arms.

"Welcome home," he says as his arms tighten, creating a cocoon in his arms. Safe in the embrace of your people, you sigh in agreement. This, you think, this is home.

A/N 2: So why was Hank at the lab, i hear you ask. Good question. I have no idea, but if you do, answers on a postcard please. :D
